One of those festivals where the undercard is way better than the headliners, especially if you're a punk or ska fan.

British Columbia's Squamish Valley Music Festival has just dropped the bomb, having confirmed this morning (February 19) that its annual three-day event will be headlined by Drake, UK crooner Sam Smith and folk-rock combo Mumford & Sons.

The sixth edition of the festival takes place August 7 to 9, with a press release explaining over 70 artists will be making their way to Squamish's Logger Sports Grounds and Centennial Fields. Details on who will play when have yet to be delivered, but other acts stopping by this year include Schoolboy Q, Alabama Shakes, the Kills, Of Monsters and Men, Chance the Rapper, Kaskade, a solo set from Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Hot Chip and more.

On the Canadian front, Squamish has also got sets slotted for Death From Above 1979, Arkells, K-os, P Reign, Joel Plaskett, Alvvays, Bahamas, Mother Mother, Whitehorse and A-Trak, among others.

That's a weird line-up in that the three headliners make it rival many major festivals, just huge gets, then the rest of the line-up just drops off a cliff.

I'm not interested in the headliners at all, but would see some of the other bands.

I bought a ticket to this about a month or so ago after they did the initial announcement of Metallica/Run The Jewels/Refused because I thought the rest of the lineup would be solid. Outside of a few names, I'm pretty disappointed

It's not the WORST line up ever if you ask me. Obviously we probably have different taste in music. 10 Acts on there I'd want to see personally.

Deadmau5's new set up is supposed to be incredible.

Yeah I guess you're right, it's not terrible. I was just a little upset when they first released that. I would really wanna see The Libertines, as I don't think Pete Dougherty can ever come into North America. I hate Mumford & Sons, and I'm not a huge fan of Metallica, so the headliners are a little disappointing. Deadmau5 would be cool, I've never seen him play before. Limp Bizkit on there is kind of a joke LOL

Picked up tickets for the "Gentlemen of the Road" stopover down in Washington. Should be an awesome weekend!

Sziget in Budapest is already shaping up nicely. Only 20% of the acts are released so far but should make my annual pilgrimage fun. Robbie Williams, Florence & The Machine, Infected Mushroom, Martin Garrix, Atl-J, The Ting Tings and Tyler the Creator

Looking forward to this too! Especially since somehow they managed to convince Dallas to stop being a puss head and play screamo again. That in itself is an amazing feat.
