Just a mess of a game penalty wise. Many of these were questionable by the ref. In addition to the Flames 3rd goal where he obviously blew the whistle, Granlund scored and he proceeded to count the goal.

This win was huge for the playoffs push. There are 6 teams that are uncatchable, then there are 5 teams fighting for the last 2 spots. They really hurt Toronto's chances with that win.

Yeah, being there live it felt like a mess of a game in regards to the penalties. I still have no idea what Wolf or Acolatse did to get game misconducts..
Wolf in particular, the ref was going with him to the penalty box and then turned right around and sent him down the tunnel. Almost like he was just mouthing off or something.
It felt like the entire game one or the other team was on the PP, and I felt kind of guilty that the 3rd goal was counted, as it was pretty clear the whistle was blown before it went in...
Having said that, great to see a Flames team win live! I've been to 2 NHL games in the past year in the area, both Flames losses..
It definitely looks like we have a couple of gems down on the farm team.. I thought Arnold, Granlund and Wotherspoon all stood out and Carr in goal (Who I'd never heard much of) had a great game, especially when the Marlies pummelled him with shots in the 3rd.

On the TV broadcast, it only really looked like he was doing the normal "Oh come on" sort of thing.
I looked the guy up and the ref is a new one, he was just named a full time AHL referee this past summer and signed to be an NHL ref and did his first NHL game just over a month ago.

Stupid Utica. If they could beat them even 50% of the time, the playoffs would be a lock.

Well, I hope they go over some of the calls made today with him.
I can't imagine many of the penalties called were necessary.. and then the non-goal. I'm sure it's all a part of learning, and it didn't necessary "ruin" the game, but I feel like this guy could run into real problems if he were to call an NHL game this way.
