Everyone has their own opinion, but the countless numbers of Civics, Accords, Camrys and Corollas on the road say otherwise.
We have a civic 2011 and it's okay but so freaking cheap built. rides nice but you have to scream to have a conversation while on the interstate due to how loud it is inside. Plus the brakes needed to be replaced at 30k (Honda is being sued for this)
They build cheap cars that are really plain that all the conformist want.
Still gross cars. Would never buy a rice racer ever. German or nothing. Quility over quantity.
This. Japanese cars are like Ikea furniture. Sure it's cheap and it's going to do the job, but every time you touch it you get the sense that it'll fall apart, and it's just so stale and boring.
Obviously their are exceptions like the odd Lexus and the GT-R, but for the most part I get more excited about the new line of Maytag dishwashers than a new Civic.

I'd take Godzilla any day of the week over 99% of ze german cars. Certain ones like the 918 are an exception to the rule. But I'd take it over any AMG.
Looks like a box on wheels . Like a good woman I dig curves.

Good for you... have fun trying to get the most out of it unless you're at a race track, oh don't launch it if you want the transmission to last because Nissan wont warranty it either.

Hind sight is 20/20. Both goaltenders have been up and down this season with thier play.
I'd take a maxima over a Malibu. I'd take an accord over a fusion. Maybe Maxima vs entry level caddies are more apt and that's different. FWD vs RWD is a big thing for me.
Altima's are fantastic. Maybe I'm a Datsun fan.
But I'd take a solid dodge any day of the week. Love the direction their brand is heading.

No. What that says is that people value initial upfront cost budget vs. interval maintenance costs and vehicle longevity budget. While cars such as corollas and civics have lower sticker price they also have shorter maintenance intervals and a shorter economic life, unlike some (read: some) higher-priced european imports. Classifying cars by country is pointless anymore. It really is about finding the car that best suits your own financial circumstances. For example, you may not be able to afford the fancy/reliable car now, but you can afford higher maintenance costs. Then a "cheaper" car might make sense. It's like buying a new computer. They all do the exact same thing (car gets you from point A to point B). It's a matter of how often you want to replace it (so long as you weed out and properly classify the correct cars).
