80% of Flames fans were thrilled or think Cgy did well considering the circumstances. I have to imagine the rest of the posters in this thread are the Canuck fans. Perhaps they have their own minor league thread to discuss AHL players?

I wanted a "Good for both teams" option. I feel neither team gets a huge advantage in this trade at this time. Canucks get a player with a lot of potential, Calgary gets an asset for a player who was on the outs.

The worst thing that could happen to him (or the best, as a Flames fan) is for him to have success immediately with Utica.

All that would do is reinforce with him that he IS good and that the Flames just didn't give him a chance.

And that would mean that he still won't do the things that he needs to do to become a good NHLer.

Sven Baertschi scored a goal? In the AHL no less? Stop the press! Wow. Now I really feel bad about this trade.

Granlund scored last night as well. Maybe we need to make a thread for all the AHL players scoring in the AHL?

Or the kid who said he was now a Canucks fan can create an ongoing thread about a Canucks prospect there. Ongoing threads for prospects rarely happen here on the main forum, the only one going is Sam Bennett, we don't need one for a Canucks prospect.

That seems more mature, and smarter?

I'll always be a Baertschi fan, I appreciate the update on how he's doing.

Yes, actually. Rather than a passive aggressive smartass remark you could say what you mean. That's a better response

That's somewhat of a harsh attitude towards a former Flames player.

I hope Sven does well in the future... as long as its not while playing the Flames.

I don't get it. Erixon wanted out and he's vilified. Sven wanted out and he's still a hero of many Flames fans. He's gone time to move on and let Canucks fans discuss this guy.

Erixon never gave the Flames a chance. Some feel that the Flames never gave Sven a chance.

But you're right.. time to move on.

There was nothing passive about my first comment, it wasn't smartass. It was just plain ol' good advice.

I think Sven got a fair opportunity. Lets see how he does next season with the Canucks before we preclude that the Flames never gave him a chance.

We likely need a new forum or category created on here. All those interested in constant Sven updates because the incredible impact he had on this franchise should have a one stop shop in the "I jumped the gun and bought his jersey and now I won't let it go" section.
