nah...just leave them flapping in the wind. We all had 2 choices anyways....just my opinion though

thought the start was excellent! They finally had a few tough challenges that really slowed the teams down and two teams that basically were lost. CJ and Lebya were awful...or so it appeared.
Shocked that only one team was U-Turned and it didn't matter anyways. On a blind turn no one would have known who did it anyways.

weened out the weakest link Friday night. My god they are a bad team who made one of the dumbest mistakes yet. Wont spoil it for those who haven't watched yet.
Decent second episode.

interesting change in production this season. Much more focus on the social aspect. Thta doctor seems like a pretty big jerk though.

On the flip side she is really annoying (at least in the edit she is getting). I think he just wants this blind date to be over and he likely doesn't need the money so he's tanking it. Unfortunate to go into the race with that attitude and ruin it for his partner. I don't think it's a coincidence that the blind dates that are getting along are doing well while the Doctor and nurse are struggling.

Embarassingly I go out 1-2. LOL. That's what I get for letting my daughter help me. Oh well she's having fun. First time she is really watching the show.

But wow what a stupid way to go out. That's even worse than going out with an idol in your pocket. It's now Monday so I don't really consider it a spoiler but I'll put it in tags anyways.

Go out because you take a selfie with your train in the background.....as it's leaving. At that point you should know that in Japan the train pulls up, unloads, loads and leaves with incredible precision that you don't get to wait around to take pictures, or get a coffee or whatever. Took me about 10 minutes to learn that on my first trip last year. Just dumb.

I would say I don't like the selfie thing as it is being really overused in the edit but, as a viewer, having a selfie end up in an elimination is hilarious.

The Backdoor....errr Backstreet boys, Harley and Jonathon, slugged their way to last place and were saved by a non elimination round.
Rochelle and Mike played strong and won the round.
The only good thing for this round was watching the teams dress in drag with the girlyboys and dance in Thailand....especially Mike.

The rare third leg non-elimination leg which they throw out there every few seasons so we don't just assume it will always be the fourth leg. It looked like the teams were going to be sleeping out on the platform where they checked in, and a "camping" type pit stop almost always means a non-elimination leg.

The blind date teams are starting to have some struggles, which is to be expected. It's tough to do the race with someone you know well, I couldn't imagine doing it with a stranger.

Glad Harley and Johnathan are out, Harley was probably the lamest person with the least confidence I've ever seen. Just look at this last episode, every single thing they went to -- Oh, I'm not very good at crafty things. Oh, I'm not very good at pool. Oh, I'm allergic to cats. Oh, I don't know anything about cars. Ugh, apparently you don't know anything about anything and suck at everything and rely on your boyfriend entirely. Good riddance.

Two week Amazing Race break for the NCAA tourney I believe.

So after a couple weeks absence the race returned with the teams making their way to Germany. We learn that Hayley is annoying everyone and not just Blair. I've taken to calling her Flo. And the failed blind date pairing of Bergen and Kurt fail to actually do any racing this leg and are eliminated. The one who was on the race to find love but didn't likely doesn't care. The one who wanted to race likely not so happy. Overall some weak teams make up this race which shouldn't be a shock given half of them do not have prior relationships.

Very tight leg that was basically a sprint from start to finish. The type of leg that seems to often be a non-elimination but this time J&J were eliminated. This is a blind date couple that actually worked as a blind date as Jeffrey will be getting Jackie's number. Jelani and Jenny are ready to self-destruct. Blair and Hayley pull it together and get along for the sake of the race....and they win a trip for two. I'm guessing they won't be taking it together.

Off to Africa next week for what looks like an unpredictable animal challenge.

Double episode this week which meant the first leg was non-elimination.

Racers flew from Monaco to Namibia for an african adventure. Hayley is almost nice for a few minutes and then turns back to Hayley (once the "hot" bush pilot is gone). Aly and Steve fall behind on the road block as the strategy of just alternating them costs them dearly. Aly spends more time complaining that it should be Steve building the hut than actually building the hut and fall behind a few teams.

At the detour they get forced into tracking elephants (numbers game) instead of the clearly quicker task of feeding wild dogs. The same happens to Hayley and Blair. Blair does all the work in the tracking presumably because if it gets done wrong he'll get blamed anyways. The upshot of all of this is that Aly and Steve are last out of the detour. Mike/Rochell somehow get lost and fall behind but then Steve decides to not heed the shrill nagging/warnings from Aly and drives off the side of the track and gets a flat, allowing Mike/Rochelle to pass them. Steve and Aly finish last and have a speed bump next leg.

Next leg remains in Africa. Steve and Aly trail the pack essentially from start to finish (made worse by being u-turned) and get eliminated. Read an interview after with Steve and Aly and it sounds like they trailed second last (Mike/Rochelle) by over 2 hours.

Mike nearly gets castrated by a zebra kick. Rochelle says he can meet her kid.

Teams made the long trek from Namibia to Amsterdam, looked for a clog, rode some bikes and some other stuff. Tyler and Laura dominated,Hailey was shrill, Jenny and Jelani were obtuse, Matt wasn't observant, mike and Rochelle were second last and no one was eliminated (Matt and Ashley last).

Next week they are off to Peru for some physical tasks. Lots of travel in these last few legs. Producers are looking to tire the racers out so that mental mistakes are made.

When we last left the teams they had finished a non-elimination leg in the Netherlands. This past episode they ripped open the clues and saw they were headed half way across the world to Peru. Laura and Tyler were first to depart and failed to read the clue thoroughly where it said they could book a better flight (if found) if they didn't want the recommended one. They booked the recommended one getting them to Peru at 8 am. They then went drinking to celebrate Laura's 30th B-day. This is a blind date team getting along really well.

J&J, and Hailey and Blair read the clue and are at the airport early enough to grab a flight that gets into Peru 12 hours earlier. Despite the bunching point of having to wait for some businesses to open they get themselves a good lead. Team Medical finish first while the lawyers finish second. It is also becoming somewhat clear when they check in at the mat that team medical is getting a bit of an edit. They seem to be developing more than just tolerance but almost starting to be friends. We'll have to see moving forward. The lawyers are simply dull TV.

The other three teams were on the recommended flight. Mike&Rochelle find the clue immediately and go on their merry way. They make no mistakes and confidently finish 3rd.

Laura/Tyler and Matt/Ashley both don't see the shoe shine station where the speedbump (Matt/Ashley) is and jump back into cabs. Laura begins talking about how she saw the speedbump and Tyler realizes that the clue has to be there. They have made a rare mistake but they get out and hurry back and recover. By the time they get to the roadblock (harvesting sugar cane) they have a significant lead on the hairdressers (who are just coming to the roadblock as they were leaving). Laura and Tyler get brought to the wrong detour but smartly choose to complete it instead. No amount of editing was going to make this suspenseful and the hairdressers are eliminated.

So to are superflyer and getbak. Cheese and ClubFlames still smug.
