Roster Changes For The a Game Against Ottawa
The big decision facing Hartley is does he go with Ramo or Hiller. The consensus here seems to be he goes back to Ramo, but Hiller did get the team the win in Detroit. Tough call, but having thought about it some more I think going back to Ramo makes sense. He has earned it and he has an the better record on the road.
The other roster change I expect is that Poirier draws in the line-up. Poirier played his junior hockey with Gatineau which is just across the river from Ottawa and I am sure Emile will have many friends and family at the game. Hartley seems to have a good sense about the importance of these things. Likely either Ferland or Bollig comes out.
Also with Monahan playing in his junior hometown I imagine he will want to put forward another excellent effort.

I wish Byron was in the lineup for this game. He seems to do especially well against Ottawa.

Ramo in net.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Hudler
Bouma - Backlund - Colborne
Raymond - Jooris - Shore
Ferland - Stajan - Poirier

Lately I dont even think it really matters, Hiller and Ramo are both hot right now.

I am sure Hartley already made a decision on who will start against Ottawa tomorrow night before last night's game. Hiller only started because Hartley does not want to play Ramo on a back-to-back especially after playing extra minutes against Boston. Yes Hiller played well vs Detroit but what is that going to say to Ramo when Hartley tells him Hiller will be the starter tomorrow? I love the competition by the two goalies but Ramo have been playing well in 5 games in this road trip.
I thought Bollig played well against the Wings and if you are suggesting that Hartley insert Poirer so he can play close to home, then I suggest I am okay with Poirer putting in the lineup and replacing Ferland. I hope that give Poirer a spark and score some goals.

Ramo has to be the guy in net. Bring Hiller back in Calgary if need be, but ride Ramo on the road trip.

Go back to Ramo, he has been exceptional on this road trip. Playing Hiller last night was smart because at times they have pushed the hot goalie for that extra start that has resulted in 3 goals against in 10 shots and pulling that guy. This way Ramo got a bit of a break, Hiller did exactly what you want the backup to do, held the fort early and let the team eventually win the game.

I can't recall; wasn't Byron accompanying them on the trip? Any news on how close he is?

If Ramo continues his great play next game the "good problem" doesn't go away

Agreed. Ramo is tops in the league on the road. You do not NOT take advantage of that.
Hiller has shown strong play both home and away, let him get his revenge vs the Ducks at home.

Go with Ramo. I understand why Hartley played Hiller last night and he played well but Ramo has earned the right to keep starting.

Logic says Hartley should go back with Ramo but Hiller is the #1 so I think Hartley will give him another chance as he probably does deserve it.

I'd like to watch Poirier again... with a bit more ice time.

As per usual.... not much I can say about this kid that hasn't been said a thousand times before.. Hard to believe he's only 20.
BTW, I love your username. It would be doubly cool if your real name was Guy Gaudreau... it isn't is it?

Hiller has the colorful home pads, Ramo has away white. The record supports it so just work it like that.

I think you go with Ramo in Ottawa. It was a good move to play Hiller on the second back-to-back game, but Ramo deserves to finish out what has been a very solid road trip.
Also like to see Poirier get a chance to play in front of his family and friends. I think we could see a little extra jump in his step.
Monahan for the hat trick!

No unfortunately not. I am just another regular CP'er - no connection to JG or his family. And my sig pic is courtesy of Dion - hat tip to him.

Other than Ramo in net, I hope they don't change a thing. They played great in Detroit and it would be hard to healthy scratch somebody after playing such a good team game.

Yes, they played great in Detroit and it's tough to change things up after a big win.
But I would like to see Poirier in, since it's his homecoming.
Hartley isn't too big on that though
