Must be trying to send Treliving a message that he's ready for the big leagues since he's in attendance. Great start to the game for Bennett

Crap quality but DAMN WHAT A GOAL!

Breaks through 2 players, let's one of them tie him up while the puck continues to drift alongside him. Break the tie-up and score from 2 feet out... Sick

Bennett is tenacious. That first goal of the night tonight was incredible drive on his part. He just wouldn't take no for an answer and kept battling by and behind the net, jamming it toward the goal several times until it finally came back to him and he fired it in.

Unreal resolve and hunger.

So excited about this guy. I remember Hartley saying that if it weren't for his injury he wasn't going anywhere. I also recall some clips of him at the combine.. Barring the chin ups his footwork on the ground looked nfl speed

Bennett finished the night with 2G, 4pim. Fronts had 52 shots in regulation. I can only imagine how many of those came off of Bennetts stick.

Default Question: I haven't been reading every thread

Has anyone mentioned if the pull-up failure was related to the (at the time hidden) shoulder injury.
If it was related (how can it not be related) then Bennet took a lot of grief for the purpose of hiding his injury.

Monahan and Bennett are going to be such a compliment to each other on different lines. There games are so different, it'll be amazing to have two such highly skilled guys on different lines bringing a different dynamic.

And Poirier on Bennet's wing could be interesting, it's going to be such an in your face abrasive game for the opposing team from the two of them. Both are 6'1 and once they fill in will hard to play against.

Not related at all. He did 11 pullups at the Flames' training camp, and that was much closer to when he was shut down and forced to undergo surgery.

Honestly still not sure how he was unable to do any pullups at the combine, but I really wish the whole thing would just go away.
