Quite the fall when last year he was right there with Hanifin.

If Kylington is available with one of our 2nds, I'd want us to take him. Can't see him falling out of the top 30 this year though. Surely Detroit scouts know if he's worth their 1st or not.

If the Flames trade up in the top 10 I hope Provorov or Werenski is their guy. Provorov sounds like he could be that potential breakout star from the draft with his stock rising fast.

Could likely have to get to pick #7 to grab Provorov. Would prefer to move up a bit to grab Rantanen too. But with guys like Zacha slipping to the 2nd round n some drafts I'd rather stay put and take a shot at a guy like Zacha and keep adding with those extra picks.

Not to mention Brandon Carlo. If he's there at the Flames pick it's be awesome if they took him.

Crouse continues to get overrated. He's likely nowhere near a top 5 pick if he's 5'10.

I'd be perfectly content with Kylington falling to us.

Me too.

Usually I would be more concerned about a big drop but the kid seemed to have an alright start in the top Swedish league, and probably hasn't produced as expected once demoted to the junior team.

Add a RD that once was seen as a top 5 talent, count me in.

General announcement. Kylington is a LHD.

Thanks,

That ISS list had him as a RD so assumed it meant Right Hand shot.

Really hand doesn't matter right now IMO. I just hope that one of Provorov, Werenski, or Kylington are available when the Flames pick (probably around 13-15).

Yup a lot of lists get confused that way. Kylington is a LHS that plays the right side.

Will likely have to trade up for any of them. IF the Flames are going to hang their hat on a D man in the first, Brandon Carlo is the guy, to a lesser extent Jeremy Roy. Both should easily be available at the Flames pick.

Hard to say.

Teams tend to put a focus on Centers in strong drafts, and this draft is full of them.

If the Flames pick in the 14-15 range I think that they may have one of the d-men available there for sure.

If would be great if we could get one of those three at 14-15 and then use two of the 2nds to move into the 22-25 range to get Carlo or Roy.

Still a lot of hockey to play still but I also wouldn't project their final standing too early. They could very well end up in a top ten position or down closer to 20.

for the 2nd round picks I'd like 3 of Joel Eriksson-Ek (C), Nikita Korostelev (RW), Nicolas Meloche (D), Gabriel Carlsson (D), Vince Dunn (D), Guillaume Brisebois (D)

Korostelev would be a fantastic pickup in the 2nd round.

Anyone know anything on Sprong? Is he falling to 25-35 slots, (which is pretty much out of our range)?

Sprong seems to be a polarizing player. Dropped a bit from the early projections, IIRC.
I also think Konecny might be a gem, although perhaps a little small for what we might want. To be clear, still hope to load up on D rather than look at forwards.

I am hoping he stands pat or can acquire more picks. There are too many good players to give away one for a marginal improvement on one of the picks.

Hey if Treliving can pull off some sort of Miracle to move up to a Provorov of Hanifin pick, I'd be all over that. But I do like the idea of over stocking the cupboards like St.Louis. They built a very well mixed roster of youth and Vets to become a perennial contender without bleeding their cupboards dry. thanks in part to some incredibly good drafting.

This exactly. Next year perhaps they can deal off another handful of veterans like Raymond, Stajan, Hiller etc to acquire another pile of top 3 round picks in addition to our own and just keep plugging in good prospects into the system.
