Excellent 1st period. I was worried they might come out flat and somewhat disorganized after having 3 days off and everything that happened over the last couple of days. But that was easily one of the best road periods I've seen them play in a while. Let's hope they can keep up the tempo for the remaining 40 minutes.

Had to miss the first 8 minutes of the game, but really liked what I saw/heard on the radio so far. Nice change of pace!

We all expected it with the excitement of playing in front of his family and friends, but oh man is Gaudreau absolutely flying tonight. He is dead set on making something big happen.

Full credit to Calgary but holy smokes...that Philly effort in the first 10 mins or so was as bad as any ive seen this season by an opponent.

So, a good period from Englland? The knock against people who watched Mike Richards play a lot was always that he needed minutes to get into the flow of the game or else he was completely ineffective. That seemed to be backed up by his rise in production in the AHL with more responsibility. I wonder if Englland responds the same way?

More responsibility, better response.

Or, just a good first period. I'm..... getting ahead of myself here.

Ummm... Mr. Sutter, the San Jose Sharks blanked Montreal 4-0 last night. That is a win.

Much easier for him when he's not glancing over ask the time to see if his partner has been beaten

I would think he does. In Pittsburgh he was the one the coaches turned to step in when the top guys went down.

Frustrating to see the linesmen miss an offside call, leading to icing for the Flames. Yuck.

Wow . Shore with half steps and is almost as quick as some players full stride. Skating around with his stick consistently on the ice all the way too.

I was just going to add that I like what I see from Shore as well. Good wheels, good size, plays physical. Definitely some nice potential there.
