Any other FFXIV players on here? My free company (guild) has kind of fizzled out and I'm looking for some new people to play with. I don't see anyone talking about in the video game thread but you never know.

If you aren't playing and are thinking about it/like MMO's, I would give it my highest reccomendation. It's by far the most engaging, entertaining, and fun MMO I've ever played and the only one to truly hook me in. I'd be happy to help out any new players who want to start playing or if anyone has any questions. I believe there's a 14 day free trial available across all platforms (PC, PS4, PS3) and there is cross platform play between all three.

If you do happen to play, what server are you on? And if you decide to give it a shot, join the server called Byrnhildr and I'll be happy to help you out and show you the ropes. It's a fantastic game so hopefully some people join up and we can start a new guild!

I've wanted to try but FFXI stole 4 years of my life from me that I have no idea where it went.. I'm sure this one isn't nearly as bad of a time sink/black hole but I just can't do it anymore.

I bet it's still fun as hell though.

I played it for a couple months earlier this year before Warlords of Draenor came out. Its a pretty cool game to at least try but I didn't like some of the grinding that was needed in the end game. It was cool to be able to play the same game on Ps4 and PC which I didn't even know existed. The server I have my character on is Shiva.

I took the plunge. Been playing for ~3 weeks. The nostalgia factor is high since I played FFXI for several years and I see many improvements over that game, but game still feels a bit grindy. Hit level 30 and the main storyline quests are tedious. "Travel halfway around the world every other quest." The first time around not so bad but leveling another job without having the main storyline to aid is grindy too.

Anyways, on Brynhildr for the hell of it so game for the "show the ropes" deal.
