Assuming the Flames' keep them, would love to see them parlay those two 2nd and 3rd rounders into late 1st rounders.

That, or move up in the first round (maybe the top 12) if they really like a certain player.

Keeping them would be fine too, Treliving thinks there are lots of good players in the later rounds.

I'd rather the Flames use the 5 picks and get 3 or 4 D-men with them. That way you can turn a weakness in the system into an area that's almost deep.

The Flames now have 6 top 90 picks in this years' draft. Lots of quality blueliners this year, as well as many forwards who can possibly fall because of how deep this draft is. The 2014 draft was good, I think this one will be better.

It's time to use one of those 2nds to draft Parker Wotherspoon and unite the brothers in their own pairing!

Just for fun, this draft is being compared to being as deep as the Monahan draft a couple years ago. If we picked in the same spots in that draft, this is who we would pick.

15: Ryan Pulock
43: Nic Petan
45: Nick Sorensen
50: Dillion Heatherington
75: Pavel Buchnevich
80: Anthony Duclair

That would have been a ridiculous infusion of talent into our prospect base.

All your seconds are belong to us!

When 1sts are too expensive, hoarding 2nds in a deep draft sounds like a pretty good strategy to me... that is as long as we actually use them to draft mostly defensemen, and not goalies and passed-over forwards, this time.

Imo, I don't think we'll have to worry about drafting a goalie this year since we drafted one last year. If we do, I think we'll do it in the later rounds. Just my guess. Too many quality forwards and blueliners to look at in the 2nd round to pass up on.
