I'm happy Sven is gone. Second round pick coming back to Calgary apparently. Calgary has a pocket full of picks to sell at the draft.

Baerschi a Canuck?

Huge fan of the kid, I really like him. I genuinely feel bad for him but I guess we have to many prospects

I won't be surprised to hear he asked for a trade

Everyone will flip out, but that is his value at this point. Best to make the move before he becomes Greg Neimsz and gets moved for Westgarth.

So we've eliminated the Baertschi and Glencross debates from this site in the last two days. That's a success for me.

Noticed that the TSN roster page had Schlemko listed as #27 earlier. But I thought it was just a random thing, maybe his number in Arizona

Not overly concerned about dealing him but really dont like sending him to a bitter rival.

It will hurt even more if he finds his game there.

I don't like it at first glance.

If this 2nd is the end game and is not being flipped in some sort of larger package then why the hell deal with the Canucks? I don't like dealing a young player with potential to our rivals.

Awful trade. Awful value considering Connolly got 2 2nds in return.

Canucks are going to actually use him and he is going to bite us square in the ass.

Disappointing. Clearly Sven had lost the confidence of the organization to the point that
- they wanted to return him to get some return
- They were willing to trade him to a divisional rival
- they didn't think he would turn it around so they re-set the clock on the prospect with a later pick

Bottom line is if they didn't see him any longer as an NHLer I get it. This could bite the team back though. Sven was a guy I thought would be quite the player.

I think they let Sven go to early, we picked him in the top 20, wonder if this is for something bigger?

This is a terrible trade. Sven is still young, a first rounder, and we trade him to a rival for a 2nd. Horrible trade.
