I think the Coyotes would have to be pretty dumb to trade OEL, since his best years are still well ahead of him.

I think in 2 years this will look to be a very poor trade for NYR.

I think this is a big win for Arizona. Not a huge Yandle fan. Not only that, but how much incremental benefit can he provide to the Rangers? Enough to justify that price? I don't think so.

What would have been this from Calgary? Russell+1st+Klimchuk or something like that?

Duclair > Klimchuk.

More like Poirier+. Duclair's value is sky high after being very good at the WJC.

Said it all along: I would have hated to see us give up even a fraction of that price for a guy like Yandle.

He's a great offensive defenseman but below average in his own end.

We don't need that at all, especially at that kind of price.

Generally I agree, but in this instance Girardi would have been notified and consulted about any trade by virtue of his NMC, so the only real damage here is to Kypreos's credibility.

He immediately becomes their best offensive dman.....there is no doubt about that.

But I do wonder if the Rangers arent dealing one of the remaining dmen somewhere else.

It would be funny if Girardi was sitting at his computer pressing F5 refreshing twitter and was momentarily devastated.

Now that is a hell of a return for Yandle. Phoenix is going to be really terrible for the rest of the season.

What I mean is - they are already very deep at D and his ice-time takes ice-time away from others. He only helps the team to the degree that he is better than whoever had the ice-time before.

You cant play all 6 guys at once (and they already had 6 good defensemen)

Again, not saying he isn't good, or an upgrade. I asking how much of an upgrade is he? Because the price was massive.

If Arizona gets the the 1st or 2nd this year and maybe gets a new coach, they could get exciting in the next few years...

The Yotes just need to get S.Reinhart and they'll have Domi, Reinhart, Duclair (maybe McDavid)

4/6 of Canada's top 6

If they win the lottery, they have:

Domi - McDavid - Duclair

Maloney could still potentially wrangle a 2nd+ for Michalek.
