I would be over the moon for a 1st coming back but would still be pleased with a 2nd.

Habs win this trade big. Fucale isn't likely to ever see the NHL, he was overrated because he was on a great team.
IMO of course.

Maloney just said there were 2 other teams that offered comparable packages to Chicago's for Vermette.
Hello Glencross.

Hello Glencross.

I get the feeling that the rest of the league does not see Glencross as a comparable to Vermette. I think Winnik , Jagr , return is more comparable. Hope I'm wrong. Still a 2nd in this years draft would be a good return.

I definitely don't remember deals happening up to the deadline quite like this year.

I'd take Petry for the Flames second and try and recover a second by trading Glenncross. I could see Petry as a 3-6 Dman. He is a little old but I think he isn't as bad as he looks on the Oilers.

Man, if 27 is old who exactly will trade for a dinosaur like Glencross at 32?

He will be 28 at the start of next season and yes I consider him a LITTLE bit old. Because he will be a UFA and he will want term, my guess is a 5 year contact + The Flames are rebuilding so I think they need to take age into consideration when thinking about trading/signing for UFAs. As far as Glenncross yes he is 32 but he won't be going to a rebuilding team, he will most likely go to a contending team so his age is somewhat irrelevant for the next couple months.
Anyway just my opinion of course.

27 is old in terms of oiler years. The soul sucking suckage of being no good takes a few years off your life. Kind of similar to what smoking does to you.

2014/2015 Trade Speculation and Rumors
Especially given that he'd likely be made the starter upon arrival. E? NG.

All these deals prior to deadline day could just be an echo from last year's Kesler fiasco that screwed up all the timelines.
Also, based on several of the returns so far, it seems pretty clear that last year's low prices were simply an aberration.

Remember when our big deadline move was re-signing Tim Jackman? Those were good times.
