He plays hard, plays a lot of minutes, and he is getting older.

Can't change his DNA. Really hope he is back soon.
He's only missed 41 games in the last 6 seasons including this one before the injury. I guess our definitions of quite a few are a little different. And all his injuries have been completely unrelated fluke injuries, ankle, hamstring and now shoulder/arm.

The only concern to me would be if this might be a problem with the same shoulder he had surgery on in 08-09

He is that important. Calgary was terrible without him last season and things likely aren't much better this season.
Sorry I didn't get the memo Giordano died.

You do realize that no one knows the extent of the injury? (which might be just for one game)

It was a "Game-time-decision" which meant there was a possibility of him playing in this game. Management and Harltey probably know that they would rather play with out Gio for 1 game rather than the risk of further injury and play without him until April.

Let's calm down people. Giordano and the Flames will be O.K.

As Gio-watch 2015 continues I am hoping for a good effort tonight from the team.

Are we worse off with no #5 in the line up? Yup. Can he be replaced? Nope.
Is Brodie going to be a defensive black hole because he is paired with someone different? I don't think so. The team is a lot different from 1 year ago and I'm going into these last 20 or so games with the belief they can get it done.

I hope mgmt adds - if it makes sense. If we stand pat - I'm cool with that too.
Never thought I'd be watching March games while OOT scoreboard watching as well.

I just want to know who is hiding Gio from the media. If someone has their contact, I know a couple people I'd like to make go away too.

I am speculating that since they are hiding Gio from the media (they even ushered everyone out of the locker room after the NJ win) that his arm has fallen off. They are just waiting for it to grow back ala Groot.

Weird. Gio's best friend on the team is supposedly Wideman. In the interview after the pre game skate today he reacted funny to the news that Gio isn't playing. He seemed kind of surprised by the news

He was joking around. Apparently quite the joker in the room. The guys on fan960 were playing it a ton.

The news or "lack there of" is more about trade leverage. The Flames don't want to appear desperate.

“@fan960lou: For those wondering Mark Giordano still with the team. Just saw him a short time ago”

But, the real question is, was his arm still attached, or has it been amputated yet?

That's my biggest fear...

If they are concerned about coming off as desperate, something is very wrong.

Man, where's the Orange Julius guy when you need him?

As much as it'd hurt to lose him, this whole season has been about overcoming adversity and exceeding expectations.

Brodie, Wideman and Russell can all move the puck well, I don't see them collapsing if he does miss any amount of time. I think they'll suck it up and rise to the occasion as they've done most of the year.

I'm just thankful to be watching meaningful hockey in February (and maybe even March.)

Is he out for sure tonight? or is it just part of the plan for everybody on here to lose their minds and crash cp.

It's Brodie's time to shine and I think he answers the call.

If he's not wearing any sort of aid then I'm sure it's nothing too crazy.

Unless it something dumb like a broken finger or something. That would suck.
