Glencross for Tambellini would be an awesome trade, but will probably not happen. Pipe dream, but I like Tambellini.

If any team needs to blow it up and start over - it's New Jersey.

Do not want any player who has a proclivity to kick with his skates on. Havlat should have been banned for life the first time .... or the second time ... he was suspended for kicking.

Yup, super satisfying when Cammy threw him a sucker punch in the playoffs vs Chicago.

We wouldn't remove a roster player before the game tonight.
Off until Tuesday after tonight, things will heat up quickly I bet.

Not sure if anyone watched hockey central at noon but Colby Armstrong looked like a zombie!
I hope Flames management doesn't go after any rental unless it's a support player that costs the team a d level prospect or a support player we can get rid of. I still like the idea of getting rid of some of our current contracts with term and I think something big is going to happen with the coyotes.

I thought the same as you until I started to think about what they have. Yandle is almost 30 and doesn't really fit in with our rebuild goal. OEL is going to cost way to much and then what else is there that makes sense for the Flames?

Nichols on Hockey: Flames GM Brad Treliving on Sportsnet 960 on if he’s close to a deal.
“Uh, I wouldn’t say I’m close. Things can change. We’re talking. There’s lots of conversations going on. Are we imminent? We hope, we expect and anticipate to get some business done, but again, I don’t know. You need somebody to say yes on the other line too.
“So we’re going to be as aggressive as we can. We’ll see where that gets us.”
Doesnt sounds to promising - yet...

It sounds like the Flames are done scouting.
Managment and pro scouts are having meetings in Philly up until the trade deadline.

So Which teams did we send the most scouts to look at besides the Coyotes?

Treliving is doing and saying everything I want him to be doing and saying as a GM...but man, he is terrible from a pure entertainment standpoint. You listen to him for 20 minutes during an interview, and he just lulls you into sleep, and at the end of it, there's nothing you actually remember.
Definitely the opposite of the last two guys in charge (Feaster and Burke). Especially with Feaster, which you knew would always produce some surprises or roller coaster moments where you think to yourself "Should he be talking about this?".

I've always wondered how much pro scouting really impacts trades.
If you are going after established NHLers, I'd hope our scouts and management team have a pretty good idea about a particular player before we show interest.

Looking for specific attributes that might not be readily available via stats? Seeing how targets handle specific situations?
I'm sure there are a lot of things that can be ascertained from scouting like this.

True, and I also think they have Craig Conroy bound and gagged somewhere. He would've spilled to Kerr by now.
