VAN reg. loss = +0.6
WPG shootout loss = +0.1
MIN reg. win = -2.1
LA reg. loss = +1.4
SJ reg. loss = +1.8

+1.8% odds! You won't often see 5 rivals play and end up improving your odds at the end of the night.

So Only Minnesota won, and Winnipeg got 1 point. Vancouvrer, LA, and San Jose all lost in regulation. I'm quite happy with that.

Pretty great OOT tonight for the Flames, although I think Minnesota and Winnipeg are the two teams we need to focus on the most in the battle for a playoff spot. Still, certainly can't complain.

Flames might have a better chance of getting in the playoffs by getting 3rd in the Pacific Division. The Central Division might end up with 5 of the 8 playoff spots.

Division is more important. Get to 3rd and what the teams in the Central do is irrelevant.

Might be difficult to get into the top 3 of the division unless Vancouver drops off. The way other teams are playing the flames probably have to go 13-8 just to get in the wild card.
Edit 10 games left against playoff teams.

Every loss by a rival lowers the threshold for making the playoffs. I like the chances of the Flames at 94 points (12 more wins) more every day.

Make it 11 after tomorrow, boys!

Number of wins needed decreases to 11 or 12 if some of their loses are loser points.

^ Yep.
Flames need to scrap out every possible point.

Like the Jets are doing, actually.

We have a good chance to catch the Jets. 2 games in hand and 4 points back.

It's so close that the Pacific Division could have 5 playoff teams.
