In light of Joni's injury, I hope the Flames can utilize Glencross to snag one of the admiral's twin tower 23 year old goalie prospects from the Preds organization.

Marek Mazanec 6'4"
Magnus Hellberg 6'5"

They platoon for the admirals, with Mazanec getting a few more starts to date, and also getting called up when Rinne went down and managed to start a couple NHL games.

Hellberg has the better numbers though, so far this season.

I know the A-Flames won tonight against the No Goods of the AHL, but did Yakimov answer tonight for running Ortio over yesterday? Maybe getting the win was sweet enough, but I'd still like to hear he got smashed up. Piece of ####.

He didn't get an easy night tonight. No one went out to fight him (he's 6'5" and 230lbs and not a fighter at all) but a number of Flames laid some big hits into him and he was definitely targeted anytime he had the puck. He was not walking around like he owned the place by any means.

Yakimov will not be suspended for his hit. The AHL announced the suspensions today for Friday and Saturday and he is not on the list.

Good news for the Adirondack Flames!

Markstrom is expected to be recalled today with Miller expected to be out for at least a week.

Should mean he won't be there this Friday when Addy plays Utica.

Might they actually have a chance to win a game against Utica?

I think we do have a chance now and I stick with my previous comments of starting Carr because he hasn't been involved in the prior 9 losses and the Comets don't have a book on him. I think you throw him in, tell the guys Markstrom's gone and we have a far better chance.

Brad Pascal on Sportsnet 960 says Arnold will be back in early March.
Setoguchi should be back soon.
Culkin is pretty much done for this season. Setting up a lower body regiment so that he will be hopefully ready for development camp in July.

1.) Holy crap, I've missed Arnold.

2.) Meh, Setoguchi doesn't add a whole lot.

3.) I feel so bad for Culkin. Those can be career enders.

We are going to win faceoffs again!!

Losing Knight and Arnold on the same night was a huge blow. No one on the team can really match what they did on the faceoff. Probably a large reason (not sole by any means) why the special teams went into the toilet too. We are getting beat on a ton of face offs and that's where those two excelled.
