Something is definitely going down with Arizona. Too much smoke now.
FYI - Chris Snow and Brad Treliving are also on that sheet...

Don Maloney(GM of the Coyotes) was at both Flames games in New York and New Jersey too, is that right?

Seems like our team has been sniffing around Arizona a lot lately. Wonder what the possibles are. Obviously not Glencross related.

Something tells me it'll involve Gormley. From our end? No idea.

Could be that we're finally about to cash in on all that cap-space though. Seeing as we almost had a deal in place for Ward last summer, it doesn't seem far fetched at all.
...but yeah, I definitely hope if it happens, we get something great back.

My Guess is Yandle or Michalek. But Michalek hasnt played so I'll say Yandle.

Salary-cap wise, no.
Would they be interested in off-loading a truly atrocious contract? Well, we had a deal in place for their 1st round pick last summer but Ribeiro used his NTC to block the trade (if reports are to be believed) before he was ultimately bought out by Arizona.

Attractive Coyotes players for a trade:
Gormley
Stone
Murphy
Yandle
Michalek
Vermette
Wishful thinking: OEL

Four more years on Smith at 5.67M. It's Arizona's only albatross contract, but they are rebuilding and their two 'goalies of the future' are several years away. I think that they hold onto Smith, as to not hurt any development. It's easier to lose with a veteran without ruining his confidence.
Other than Gormley, there isn't a player that jumps out as WANT. But why scout the NHL club so much then? I love the mystery surrounding Arizona. I have no idea what is in store, as nothing is plainly obvious.

Gormley and OEL are playing tonight, for the record.
Arizona also wants to take long-term contracts since they can't attract UFA's.
Perhaps a Smid or Engelland are involved if we are snooping around acquiring one of their defenders?

Gormley would be amazing, but I can't see a rebuilding/retooling team giving him up.

Hanzal I would happily take. 6'6 230lb center who can chip in offensively, play solid defense, absolutely crushes the face off dot and is only 28 still?
Yes please.
Boedker would also be a fantastic pick up.

I wonder if Tikhonov is in play here. Talented winger looking to come back to North America. I doubt it, but with Glencross on the way out, an enigma like this may not cost us a whole lot. Definitely a risky proposition, though.

The only good thing about looking at Arizona is that Treliving has some exposure to the prospects in that organization. Maybe Treliving is looking at stealing one of the guys that he thinks has untapped potential with the organization.

Arizona has his rights until free agency then he's a UFA.

He obviously doesn't need your lack of insight answering him.
He proposed an idea just like others do, if you don't like it don't answer. Not that hard.
