Default Feb 26 Practice - Gio = "maybe a gametime decision." Ramo starts Friday.

Optional practice today. Questionable if there is a Giordano update afterwards.

Optional practice for #Flames on Long Island today. I wonder if that means we'll have to wait until tomorrow for an update on Mark Giordano?

Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Hiller, Granlund, Potter, Bollig, Poirier, Ferland among group skating this afternoon for the #Flames. She's optional.

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills

You would think if it was something definitive like a broken bone we would have heard by now.

I too like to think that no news is good news ... but who knows.

If he was out long term and they were going to call up another player, when would the call up have to take place in order for the player to be eligible to play tomorrow night?

Or is the timing even an issue...

as long as the player arrives in time for game time, it's not an issue. Plus they have a healthy defenseman in Potter available anyway, so in theory they don't HAVE TO call someone up if Gio is out tomorrow

Derek Wills @Fan960Wills
#Flames Paul Byron leaves the ice after skating in circles for a few minutes...I don't think he's close to returning.

Potter is still with the team, so even if they are calling the Spoon, they can field a team.

I agree that if there was an actual break, it would have been dealt with last night and someone would have spotted Gio with a cast. And there'd be no real reason for secrecy (barring trade talks involving a d-man).

Watching this team without Gio would be both terrifying and fascinating. He's been that "glue" all year long. Sans him, do they crumble completely, or rally and scrape together some semblance of a respectable on-ice performance?

This happened last year too, and there was nothing fascinating about our defense minus Gio, just ugly. Real ugly

We need him to pull his Terminator routine where he immediately heals himself and goes back into the fray!

Mason Raymond will not rejoin #Flames in time for tomorrow's game vs. #Islanders but will likely join the team in Philadelphia.
