If Gio is out. Do the Flames go with what they have and call ups, or does Treliving make a trade to try and still do something this season?

I am never going to tell anyone to not have a sig, but I just want to say that I appreciate you being co-operative and understanding on this issue.
I get that you like having the pics and that's all great - good on you. The problem is when someone with a big sig posts several times on a page, it's a lot to deal with and download.
So thanks for being understanding on this.

There is no replacing Gio. I would go with call-ups and see how far the kids carry the team.

IMO, if Gio is out long term, you accept it and call it what it is - a rebuilding season.
Trying to shore up a hole like that on a team that is already thin (it is a rebuild after all) would be a waste of assets.

The cost of attempting to replace Gio is too high. If he is out, we have to live with it. Maybe it'll inspire the guys to do it for him.

Just curious what the general consensus is if Gio is out. This season has been fun and making the playoffs would be a hoot, but you don't trade away assets or picks to try and salvage it, IMO. Although if you can make a hockey trade and get someone who might be able to help on defense more so than a call up. Maybe you do that?
Then again, hopefully Gio is fine and this is all for not.

Agreed, you don't get any D-man you weren't targetting even with Gio.
This is an RB season anyway. Maybe the kids can pull it off, maybe not.
I'd imagine Russell would move up to the top line, Wotherspoon comes up from the farm.

If Gio is out, do we even upgrade at all in abut position? If he's hurt, playoff chances likely take a dive. If so, are any assets with spending?

based on the nature of the injury I don't think he'll be hurt too bad, wishful thinking but he probably will be ok.

Sorry the bolded part makes no sense. Do you know the nature of the injury?

call-ups??
They're "this" close to making the playoffs. Trade for a top four guy if you can and try to get in. Then the guy can slot down to #5 and get liability Engelland out of the lineup. Regardless whether Gio is out or not they should be grabbing a Dman via trade.

taking a slapshot awkward fall versus flying into the boards head first ala Kane
