It wasn't that long ago that many fans here figured Ramo had played his last game as a Flame. Nice to see that Hartley has faith in the play of Ramo.

Happy to see Glencross score another (last one?) goal for the Flames.

Obviously it's early in his career, but Gaudreau is developing a real Tanguay feel to me - he gets the puck in the offensive zone and is immediately and almost exclusively looking to pass. 1.5 shots per game in his last 10 just isn't enough.

Alex Tanguay is 3 games shy of 1000, he has over 800 points, at 35 years of age he has 40 points in just under 60 games.
I know people are sour about Tanguay around here but if that's what Gaudreau is then we should be very happy.

If Tanguay (and Iggy) had Monahan/Bennett centering him, that is a scary, scary player.

I'm not sour about Tanguay in the slightest. I think he was good in his time here and wish him well. But I do think he could have been a much better, more well rounded player if he would attack the net more often rather than always looking to pass. He has the skill set to be a Patrick Kane (.967 ppg), but doesn't use all of it
I see no reason to be content with the possibility to Gaudreau limiting his game to one dimension just because other players have had some success doing that.

Is there any truth to the rumor that our Captain may be seriously hurt?

So far, Gaudreau is a maximum opportunist. If reads the pass as the best play there is no indecision. I like that. He has minimum time and experience in this league and still needs time to adapt. The upside is he's been able to survive and thrive. It's his rookie season in the NHL. Will he be passing and creating opportunities in the future? Hopefully. Will he find a way to bury pucks on his breakouts, hopefully. Let's not forget in the world of NHL experience, he's just a newborn and the fact that he has performed this great to date, can only lead to better.
Also, the one thing about the Kane comparison is that Kane has done the work, relentlessly, to become the world class player he is. Gaudreau is really gonna have to keep moving to be on that level. And I hope he does.
Does anyone have information on Gio?

It's his first year - he's still learning what he can do in the NHL. Players evolve.
IMO, he's ALREADY Tanguay. And he's only a 21 year old rookie.

The two goalies are real contrasts in styles and have different strengths and weaknesses. Hiller has more size and is more positionally sound IMO (leading him to not make highlight reel saves as much and getting beat when he plays the right position but the puck gets put to a hole in that position). Ramo is more athletic (leading to big saves like v. the Rangers but also getting happy feet and out of position when he's not on).
If you could engineer them into one goalie you'd have a really really good one. Actually Ortio in his limited time looked to have some of that combo going.

He won't be Tanguay until he wins a Stanley cup in his rookie season.
