If Tom Watson was our return is some sort of package, I'd be a happy camper.
Beagle and a 4th, however, no. Gross. I'd rather keep Glencross.

I know he's a pretty good golfer for his advanced age, but i'm not sure how good he would be at hockey.

Brouwer is a much more important piece to Washington than Glencross is/ever was to Calgary.

The only thing Brouwer has on glencross right now is being better at just about every facet of the game. More physical, faster, better goal scorer, better defensive player.

Brouwer is what we all wish Glencross was.

How can you say Brouwer is a better goal scorer than Glencross? This is the first year where Glencross has struggled to score.

17 goals is greater than 8 goals.

It's slightly more than double.

I just looked it up: Glencross has 1 more career goal than brouwer. By the end of the season, Brouwer will be a better career goal scorer than Glencross.

And they are both .5 PPG career players. You are underrating Glencross if you think Brouwer is the better player.

Even though Wilson has been getting some tough love from Trotz, there's no way the Caps are going to give-up on him. The kid is a beast and has been the size and grit the Caps have been lacking for a few years. He's even spent a fair bit of time with Ovi and Backstrom so I don't see any reason for the Caps to trade him for Glencross. That would be wishful thinking on anyone's part.

If it's so obvious you should be able to prove it, right?

I could say the same thing back at you. You're making it seem like you've watched every single Caps' game.

Brouwer:

Scores twice as many goals
Plays more games
Plays more minutes in those games
Takes more draws
Is a better defensive player
Is Bigger and more physical
Is younger
Is under contract for next year

Your turn.

Brouwer and Glencross are roughly equal in points (20 point advantage for Curtis) and almost identical in goals. But Brouwer has done it in two less years, plus he's a RH RW, so I can see why the Flames would want him.

To be clear, they said they wouldn't trade Mike Green for a rental or prospect.

They would trade him in a hockey deal.

While I dont necessarily disagree that Brouwer is the better player right now, Glencross has more career goals and points in less career games, so trying to pass it off like you are that Brouwer is by far and away the more effective player is cherry picking this years stats.

They really do have suprisingly similar career stats across the board from GP, G, A, P and even PIM.

Brouwer is 13 lbs heavier and 3 years younger.

Overall, they are very similar level players.

Let's look at PPG, starting at 08-09 where both players established themselves as NHLers:

08-09: Brouwer - .38, Glencross - .54
09-10: Brouwer - .51 , Glencross - .49
10-11: Brouwer - .46, Glencross - .54
11-12: Brouwer - .40, Glencross - .72
12-13: Brouwer - .70, Glencross - .65
13-14: Brouwer - .52, Glencross - .63
14-15: Brouwer - .49, Glencross - .53

You're acquiring him for what he is now, for the remainder of the season and only that. Nothing before this season really matters, only what he is now.

I think what Flash is getting at is that teams and fans are more about "what have you done for me lately" and in that regard, Brouwer has done more than Glencross.
Which come deadline day and the talks leading up to it, is what Gm's would be focusing on . Deadline day is about helping right now trades.
