One thing that Kane's injury does do is relieve some of the cap pressure on the Hawks, so they don't need to wait until the last possible moment to make a deal anymore (assuming they put him on LTIR).

If the bergenheim deal has set the bar at a third rounder for a rental 3rd line w and that is the price buyers are offering, hope the Glencross to Washington rumors are true as Washington has Buffalo's 3rd rounder which would be not too far off from a contenders second rounder, especially if that contender makes it to the finals.

I'd definitely say Glencross > Bergenheim.
Maybe something along the lines of
To WAS:
Glencross
5th in '15
To CGY:
WAS 2nd in '15
BUF 3rd in '15

Agreed that glencross is probably better but they fill a similar role on a contender. So if that role is deemed worth a third rounder, then the market is set and it will be tough to exceed that return.

1. Back to Glencross in a second, but with the Blackhawks expecting bad news on Patrick Kane’s shoulder/collarbone, Stan Bowman’s biggest decision will be assessing the true length of the Hart Trophy candidate’s absence and how far Chicago can go without him.
If Bowman wants, he will be able to use long-term injury relief, which will give him freedom to chase rentals. The Blackhawks have been linked to Curtis Glencross, Andrej Sekera and Antoine Vermette, but does it make any sense to give up the assets without Kane? That’s still a really good team, but he’s been their best player.
Two weeks ago, Corey Crawford used an equipment issue to stall for time after a shift for Kane, because a penalty was called against Pittsburgh. They wanted the forward to stay on the ice for the power-play, which he did for a total of 2:31. That’s how important he’s been to Chicago.

3. Keep an eye on Washington. GM Brian MacLellan said last weekend he will not trade Mike Green for picks or prospects, so barring a blockbuster (which the GM doesn’t see coming), Green will finish the season in the American capital.
The Capitals are all-in.
MacLellan would not comment on anything else, but it’s believed they will try to add another defenceman and it’s well-known they are chasing a forward to play with Nicklas Backstrom and Alexander Ovechkin. Ovechkin’s flexibility allows them to search for the best possible addition, whether a right- or left-handed shot.

4. Washington is not on Curtis Glencross’s original list of teams he’d like to go to (Anaheim, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Tampa Bay), but the Capitals would be great for him if that first line spot is available.
The Los Angeles Times’ Lisa Dillman reported the Kings were not a fit. It is possible, probably likely, Glencross expands his group. St. Louis’s Doug Armstrong and Rob DiMaio attended Calgary/Rangers on Tuesday. It wouldn’t be a stunner if they were watching him closely, too.

Yeah you'd think playing with Backstrom and Ovechkin would be appealing if only to pad your stats for free agency in the summer.

I think Glencross fits the Caps' style of play too. Trotz has been doing wonders for them.

Glencross is certainly not helping his chances of a team wanting to jump to make him part of their team with his play since this all went down. Seriously, if this is how he is going to play maybe he should be scratched.
So underwhelming.

Maybe he knows he is getting traded soon and just doesn't want to give the effort with the Flames right now.

I thought he played one of his best games in a long time vs the rangers. He was physical, winning board battles and giving himself offensive zone opportunities.

Perhaps the BVB call up is something more than just the roster spot open.

I disagree. The only people that showed up that game was the AHLers and Ramo.

The Rangers might be the best team in the East.
The Flames lost 1-0 in their barn.
Moving along now...

Boomer (Dean Molberg) says the list has been expanded per his sources.
Capitals are now on the list.
His understanding is that the team has asked Glencross would he be willing to add Capitals to that list and Glencross said yes.
He also says Winnipeg has inquired and made an offer, but doesn't think there is traction there.

That means the Caps have made serious inquiries. So what do they have to offer?

Glencross is better than Erat, so do expect more than a top prospect or first rounder?
