AHL Stockton to be known as Stockton Heat. Update: logo and jersey unveiled

The Stockton AHL franchise, owned by the Calgary Flames, announce the five names that have made the final cut from the “Name the AHL Team” contest. The American Hockey League franchise will be known as the Stockton Blaze, Stockton Fire, Stockton Heat, Stockton Inferno or the Stockton Scorch.
The winning name, which will be selected by the Calgary organization, will be announced soon and the winning fan will be awarded the grand prize of season tickets for the inaugural AHL season.

I can't see "Blaze"... drug connotations.
I believe there is an ECHL team called "Inferno", so that isn't good.
"Fire" just sounds too plain.
"Heat" was the name of another recent AHL team.
Really, out of those 5, it has to be Scorch.
If not for the humorous reasons for the Scorch handle, they all kind of suck. I wish pro sports teams would stay clear of singular nouns for team names.

I originally voted for the Stockton Thunder for the sake of long time fans in the area, but with that off the table it has to be Scorch

The "Stockton Scorch" bit is funny and all, but it is sad that a joke name is honestly the best option.
