Default HNIC Music Montage Maker Let Go By Rogers Sportsnet

Really unfortunate for viewers as his playoff montages were always excellent and well done.

Unfortunately, I won't be working for Hockey Night In Canada anymore. I was let go today. I'll be back at CBC Sports & am excited about it.

Last year's playoff closing montage:

That guy put together some amazing montages. I always looked forward to his work. SportsNet is really stupid not to work with him.

There are always two sides to every story. I am not going to join the lynch mob unless I hear the other side and there was no reason.

Rogers is dismantling HNIC. There was a time I would have been saddened by it, but given the decline of network TV, and the digitization of viewing options there isn't much they could have done.

As someone who doesn't care about the Maple Leafs, HNIC only carried vaguely nostalgic appeal for me. My primary goal was always to watch the Flames. Much of the Canadian market probably feels likewise about their own teams.

Sad to see good people losing their spots, but they'll find work elsewhere.

IMO we won't really feel the loss of CBC/HNIC until the playoffs start.

CBC really had it figured out last season.

There will always be guys available to make montages, just take a quick look at youtube. Not that hard to do.

That being said, HNIC has been unwatchable due to Strombo and the so called 'panel' this year. Sportsnet continues to have a horrible broadcast even on the other nights of the week.

Ball & Hrudy calling regional games has been the only positive thing from the whole Sportsnet mega deal.

He probably asked for $1 more a game and Sportsnet was to cheap to pay.....

Unwatchable. Glad I don't really pay for it.

Roger's pays crap. Absolute crap. Interviewed for a job (technical) and was offered a near $30kpaycut over what I make now for salary. I literally laughed out loud. That was for a senior/management position. Complete joke when you let the behind the scenes people go or treat them like crap.

The NHL should let Rogers buy themselves out of this contract before the damage is permanent.

brutal decision highlighting why Rogers agreement is poison. I honestly can't overstate how little respect I have for this kind of move and the people behind it.
