I'm sure he is pretty excited to play some hockey, even if it isn't where he was hoping to play.

Assuming he isn't in the lineup tomorrow, there are 13 more games after that. Not a lot of time to get rolling. Usually takes about 3 to 5 games to start to connect with team-mates and get into the groove of the team. So maybe 10 games to see what he can do at this level.

A reasonable expectation might be 20 pts.

Spencer Watson RW is the only PPG player on the team (13G, 19A, 32P in 27G)

If they were to get rolling, Kingston could easily finish in 6th. 5th is a possibility. If 5th or 6th - well, if not 8th, let's put it that way - they might have a chance at winning a playoff round

Yeah, the typo isn't what I was questioning. Where are you getting the rest of your info from?

I think sureLoss needs to create a mega post for topics like this, like waivers etc. So much misinformation always being thrown out, it would be nice to have an all inclusive post to simply link to.

Flames brass make the inevitable correct move. Well played.

Sensational Sam will be back, with something to prove - look out opposition. Will be interesting to see his impact with Kingston.

Lawson Crouse could prove to be the big winner - might be able to improve his offensive production for his draft stock.

The Flames lucked into not burning off a year of his entry level contract.

There will be a cap crunch on the horizon with Monahan and Gaudreau joining Brodie in the big money club .

Monahan Gaudreau Gio, Colbourne and Russell all due for huge increases in 2016. This moves Bennett back to 2018.

Will be interesting how Hartley manages a team (2016) that has money in the bank with more Glencross financial security and less entry level guys.

That's just to the best of my knowledge. I remember hearig it from somewhere.

But I'll wait until SureLoss either proves me right or wrong. He's the expert.

Colborne and Russell aren't going to get huge increases

Hudler $4m, and Jones $4M come off the books (unless extended)

Wideman $5.35M Raymond $3.15M Smid $3.5M and Engelland $2.9M will all be in the last year of their contract, which creates a lot of options in dealing with them.

The cap isn't going to be a problem for a while, unless they start ramping up the UFA signings or acquire big contracts in trade.

I wish we had capgeek still lol

I'm not sure how I feel about extennding Hudler, im guessing he would want 5m at least.

Still a couple years away, so pretty much impossible to say.

Having said that, I would think that there will be tremendous pressure from the prospects to take his top 6 position, so there is also a pretty good chance that he is expendable by then.

It's not a couple years away though, it's this time next season. It'll be pretty interesting to see what happens with Hudler next year. He will be a pending UFA next season and should be fun times seeing how it all sorts out. If he isn't signed near the deadline next season and the Flames are in a similar position, does he get moved? Or is he such an important cog that you keep him and keep trying to sign him?

I'd imagine Burke and Treliving value him more than Glencross and you'll see him signed to an extension at some point.

This is probably the best long term development move for Sam - he can get both his hockey legs and his confidence going with the Frontenacs.

If the Frontenacs can make a decent playoff push that would be beneficial for Sam and if not he likely then is well positioned to take some games with the Adirondack Flames if they are getting ready for a playoff push.

Good to see at Treliving making decisions that put player development first.

Sorry yeah, Hudler is next year.

I would think a big factor will be where the Flames are next year. If they regress (a real possibility), it might make sense to move him.

If they are in the playoff mix again, different story.

Sorry, back to Bennett.

Kingston is his conditioning stint. If their season ends before the pros, he will be up with Adirondack or Calgary before we're done.

I don't see us moving Hudler regardless of the circumstance. His role in the development of Gaudreau, Monahan, Colborne, Jooris, Baertschi etc has been just too significant. I expect him to play the same role next year for Bennett, maybe Poirier.

@KristenOdlandCH: Sam Bennett on returning to the OHL/Kingston Frontenacs: “I’m definitely going to have a good attitude (going back) …
@KristenOdlandCH: ...it’s not my first choice of where to play. But I’m really excited to start playing again.”

@AAVickers: Treliving: "Wednesday would be opening night..." for Bennett in Kingston. #Flames

I read on TSN that he is not allowed to be sent down to Adirondack because he is 18 and plays in the CHL last season. So it is either Calgary or Kingston. I have no idea why we are such in a rush to see him play in the NHL. I think this is the best option for Sam Bennett especially after coming back from the injury. He'll be here next season anyways. I hope Bennett goes back to Kingston a 100% and keeps on getting stronger in time for next season.

@Fan960Steinberg: Treliving says sending Bennett to Kingston was never really in doubt. It was the most sensible move and they stuck to their guns. #Flames

A little frustrating that this keeps coming up even months of discussion on this forum on the issue.

@SUNGilbertson: Interesting note from #Flames GM Brad Treliving — Sam Bennett has gained about 10 lb. of muscle while working out in Calgary.
