Which I can agree with.
I know, right. Who wouldn't follow their man to a war zone but a spoiled American chick? Gawd, so spoiled.

No one said anything about following me here. None of the other guys wives have ever been to Kurdistan. It's the distance and time away.

I'll take a bunch more pics in the morning. I looked through my pics and there isn't anything worth sharing. Mostly site pics.

Erdogan rejects parliamentary motion to investigate ISIS activities activities in Turkey... Hm. I wonder why that is.

I just don't understand why young girls/women would do this... its just crazy. Its like selling yourself into slavery.

The three British schoolgirls believed to be on their way to war-torn Syria could face beatings, sex slavery and even being killed if, as feared, they become "jihadi brides".
Police officers are locked in a race against time to trace Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and an unnamed 15-year-old pal who are believed to have gone to Turkey in a bid to cross-over into Syria to ISIS held areas.
But many western women who join ISIS have suffered dreadfully at the hands of the brutal regime.

Or, non-North American girls can actually handle a relationship where the other person is gone regularly? They can function just fine without dying and withering away from separation anxiety? Not really unheard of, dude. Try getting out into the world sometime and see different perspectives.

Yeesh. That is grim. This kind of stuff doesn't seem to get enough publicity.

These crazies use social media and propaganda to swindle stupid young men from all over the world to come join their cause. There should be (and probably is) some propaganda going the other way.

Take this kind of horror story about these young women, put a dude's name in it, and put it on the Twitterbook.

"Abdullah (known as Kevin to his friends back home in Canada) snuck into Syria last month and, instead of being armed to fight the infidels as he had hoped, was used as a sex slave for a week by a high-ranking member of the fanatical group, and was shot in the head when they were chased out of the area."

Just make it up if you have to. Hell, I'd be surprised if something like this hasn't actually happened.

I know I know, I'm advocating the government lying, and the use of propaganda, but what the hell, you gotta fight fire... It's just mind-buggering to me that anyone would want to leave a safe, stable country to join this lunacy.

We all know how stupid people in their 20's (and any age, but "20's" seems to be the target age group) can be. A dirty trick or two to change their mind isn't such a bad thing in the grand scheme.

You guys have no idea how sexist and ignorant it is to suggest North American women are spoiled for theoretically having higher criteria and standards for their personal relationships. How dare those b'tches try for something better in life. Do you guys get mad when you buy drinks and don't get laid too?

But yeah I'll try to get out a see some more "worldly" perspectives. Thanks.

According to certain strains of apocalyptic ideology in Islam, this is a religious obligation. In all likelihood, "well meaning" Muslim apocalypticists miscalculate how well they conform to the religious criteria instilled by ISIL, with catastrophic results.

Hit WEM at the right time and you could kill a lot of people.

WEM was built and I think still owned by the Ghermezian family. I doubt ISIS would like them very much.

They are bombing about 10 kms away from us at the moment. I'll see if I can capture any pics on the horizon. I don't hear anything at the moment though.

Bah. I can't see anything. Makes me think it already happened before I got the text or it was a bogus report from security.

Are these private security details hired by your company? Something like Blackwater?

They are hired by the client. And they are ok, mostly ex-Pesh Merga guys or guys who worked for the US when they were in country. All locals.

Not anywhere at the level of a Blackwater.

I've got some pics I took today. When I get back to camp later on where the wifi is better, I will try to upload them. They are nothing special. I don't want to take any pics of our camp or facility because of the strong presence of ISIS on the internet. No point giving them easy access to facility or camp layouts.

I do have some pics of the country side and some wild dogs and locals and puppies that we found today though. haha.
