They were on the 5 on 3 for about 40 seconds. Not a huge amount of time to do much.

I think he is saying not to go crazy because of a single loss. And recalling that this is year 2 of a rebuild when many projected the Flames to be in the McDavid sweepstakes. So the Flames record is really really good in this process.

Oh we lost .. Oh well
It's not oh well. We have lost a lot of ####ty games this year that we should have won. Yes it's year 2 into a rebuild. But I look at some of the teams like Vancouver and they are ahead of us and I believe we are a better team. It's frustrating we should be about 6 points clear and in second of that shower of ####e

I, for one, still believe the Flames will make the playoffs this year.

being up 2-1 in the 2nd period of a game you are being badly outplayed in and losing isn't my idea of blowing a lead.
Flames are 14-1 when leading after 2
and have 10 wins when trailing
10>1

Just like they should. The modum operandi from Hartley and company is just have fun with this. Don't get caught up in the chase and take everything so seriously. something some fans should take into consideration.

Whole-heartedly agree with you. Team far surpassed all my expectations this year, went to the call of duty and beyond. Whether we make the playoffs or not, season is still a massive success.
Not done yet though. Still a lot of hockey to be played.

It's a learning experience. This team is very young and these games are getting tougher. Especially against a contender like anaheim. never to high and never to low.

13-8-2 will get them 96 points, its not like they have to run the table

5 games above .500 may be asking a lot right now. We'll see how this roadie goes. More than a couple of those teams are very beatable right now.

You do realize we're only 9 games over 500 three quarters of the way into the season? To go 5 games over 500 in the final quarter would be them playing above the current pace/trajectory.
Not an easy task.

Flames are not going to win every game going forward. It's going to be how they bounce back after this loss.

Assuming they recover from tonight and don't totally collapse without Byron, and Hartley stops favoring Bollig over Jooris...I got us going 15-7-1
That would put us at 99 points.

Thing is, the 96 point threshold might turn out to be a little high this season. We are right in the mix, and while some teams get hot, some cool off. I like the idea of the Flames getting 96 points, but they may not have to.
Would be good to win the games they are leading, though. Lots of chances to get the points left for them though; just need to lock it down.

^ you see the flames beating the blues, the islanders and predators on the road? Not saying it couldn't happen but that's pretty aggressive.
I think we're going to go right down to the wire and make it. Possibly even on a tie break.

I don't think not worrying about a loss is defeatist. Quite the opposite. The Flames are in a PO spot right now. In order to keep it, they have to simply play as well or better than the teams below them. Which they've done all year. Their record would be even better without the 8 game losing streak where they played pretty well in a lot of games but didn't get a point. So playing above .500 is doable if they avoid another streak like that.
They just lost a game to an elite team. It happens. They also stole a point off a game they could easily have lost, in Minnie, and got two in a game where they had to recover from a 3-0 lead. That's NHL hockey, and it's not for the faint of heart.
I hope they make the POs. But I won't freak out if they don't.

Just a terrible 3rd.
But, not a terrible home stand at 2-1-1. Hopefully they can go at least 4-2-1 on this east road trip.

The Flames need to go 4-3 during the road trip. If they go 5-2, they're in, I'm in.

The Islanders are not sweeping the season series. They're no better than us.
I got us losing to the Blues at home, and then getting revenge on the road. Feels like what this team does.
As for the Preds... it'd be one hell of a win. Probably the most out-there prediction this season, but why not? Better than predicting a 3-game losing skid.
