Meh, was hoping for some AHL or NHL minutes first. OHL is cool too. Better make room for Bennett next yer though. I don't think he is going to take no for an answer.

So Kingston doesn't make the playoffs he can come back to the big team? When is Kingston's last game?

I'm disappointed because I wanted to see what he could do, but also felt a bit of relief since sending him down would be the least risky move. I have little doubt that he'll make the team out of camp next season.

Well if Kingston doesn't make the playoffs, I hope they trade him to a legit Memorial Cup contender.

Bennett has been like a caged lion as Hartley put it since January... Look out OHL. There is no way Kingston misses if Bennett goes there and takes over as the driving offensive force. I think best case scenerio is him having a lengthy playoff run in the minors.

I'd choose b) every time.
It's another example of the mgmt group not letting ticket sales, media, pr, or shiny new toy issues cloud their long term judgement.
Approaching Glencross is a good sign, assigning Bennett would be another.

I totally agree that, between the two extremes, it is no contest - b) every time.
However, it does not have to be between the two extremes. There is a very clear and reasonable set of choices inbetween the two extremes

I hope if Kingston makes it to the Memorial Cup but doesn't make the final game, they trade him to one of those teams that do.

I'm fine with this decision if it comes down over the next few days.

If Kingston doesn't make the playoffs, does Calgary still have to be in a situation to make an emergency call up to recall Bennett, or does it not matter cause their season is over? Because he's technically not of AHL age yet.

Once the CHL team that owns his rights' season and playoffs are over he can be assigned to the AHL.

As far as I understand it, once eliminated from the Ohl playoffs, he is unable to go to the AHL but is still able to go to Calgary if they choose to bring him up which I believe they would.
Edit: I stand corrected - Would be cool to see him on a line with Baertschi and Poirier in a lengthy Calder cup run!!

Just curious what the other choices in between are. Other than sending him to the AHL for a conditioning stint, which would be a small temporary reprieve from the other option, everything else would involve putting him either the NHL or the OHL immediately. Really, it only buys a little bit of time until they need to decide again what to do.
I suppose they could just add him to the NHL roster and not play him, but that wouldn't help much. He needs to play a lot right now.
