I believe in the Pony Power

Glencross for Stephen Johns or Ville Pokka would be just fine.

I want Glencross to hit everything that moves tonight like he used to. Maybe pot a goal or two and truly pass the torch to Bouma.
2011-2012 Glencross was incredible to watch

I wonder why he wouldn't waive to go to Pitts? I mean he'd be playing with a superstar center and bumping up his value for his next contract. Its not like he has to move there as he can still go to the highest bidder on a team he wants to play for in the off season.

I disagree with Roger - I think he comes out fired up but still doesn't produce anything with his limited minutes.

For which team? lol

I'm going to say LA, Tampa, and Islanders. Actually don't think islanders are on his list but they got a great D prospect list to chose from.

Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago, Anaheim would be 4 of them IMO - West teams (closer to family) who are playoff locks.

He and his wife are expecting a baby in April. Likely he'll want to stay out west so he has a quicker trip back home when it's time for the birth. This trade is only for the short term. If he decides to sign with whomever traded for him, great. But after the season is done he probably wouldn't have as much qualms about signing with Eastern teams.

Most likely the distance from Calgary and travel time to get back here when his wife goes into labour. It's at least 7 hours of travelling to get to Calgary from Pittsburgh.
It would be much easier to get home from California or Chicago. Even Montreal would be better because there are multiple daily flights between Calgary and Montreal.

Why would he resign? His contract doesn't expire until July.

It actually would be an interesting twist if he ended up with a new contract extension out of this somehow.

I hope for the Flames' sake there is indeed legitimate interest for Glencross out there and that something worthwhile will come back in return. While I think Curtis is a good lad overall, I've never been a fan of him, even at this best - well, maybe didn't mind him at his best, but always thought we should deal him when he was "on top" of his game.
Anyway, no matter how I try to break down his point of you, and while I do, as others have stated "understand" where he's coming from, I think this would raise so many flags as an opposing GM/pro scout for a number of reasons:
- you complain when your team is achieving far, far beyond anyone's expectations
- isn't hockey a team first game?
- Glennie looks like he's more concerned about padding stats for his next contract rather than the Win column (while can't blame a lad for looking out for #1, to do that publicly on this team, at this chosen moment = not cool)
- Flames motto is "nothing given, always earned" - if Curtis was producing, was deserving, he'd get the minutes.
- Do you trust Hartley's deployment of Glencross or the player's interpretation fo what he should be playing?
Maybe this just goes against my own hockey belief system, hockey morals, hockey ethics - whatever you want to call it...
I hope there's a desperate enough GM out there who will give something for him. If it was me (obviously it's not), I'm not sure I'd give a 5th rounder for him, unless there was nothing more desirable out there. At least, there's the fact that his salary is low, expiring contract and couple of nice seasons to tempt opposing GMs...
Can't wait to see this resolved, but ok with Treliving exercising patience as well.

- he didn't really complain (sorry, not every statement has to be an "aw shucks")
- yes it is, and I don't see where he said anything directly to disprove that (I can see how you could extrapolate comments)
- again extrapolation, he didn't say any of this sort
- True... I agree there
- i think Hartley gave out ice time based upon many things, such as chemistry of players, depth, who is playing well recently etc.
Honestly all I saw from Glencross's comments were that he wants more ice time.... I don't think thats a issue for any GM suiter.

I'd love to see Glencross in a Jets jersey, but I'm not sure if he wants to come here. I can't seem to find anything on twitter. How are the Flames, in terms of defensive depth?
Pardy, Postma, and Harrison are all expendable, I would imagine.

Around 80% of posts in this thread, and about Glencross in general, sound like they were made by my second ex wife...
Good job, CP
