Whatever the return. Today kind of shone a light on the fact it's a forgone conclusion that Glencross will be traded. Let's wait and see what Treliving and company will get in return for him.

Sounds like a deal will be imminent, can't see the Flames wanting this to fester for very long.

Would Habs trade Zac Fucale for Glencross + 3rd rounder?
They have Tokarski & Price for the short & medium term so don't really have room for him.
Then we can have Mcdonald & Fucale battle it out to be Ortio's backup in about 2-3 years.

No thanks. Fucale isn't that good.

My takes out of all of this:
- Glencross really likes this team and is having a good time.
- Glencross wants some powerplay time, which he hasn't really had lately.
- Glencross is willing to waive his NMC for certain winning teams, but isn't really too focused on this stuff
- The Flames if they get a good return they'll take it.
- Media is just going a bit too wild.

We don't need another goaltending prospect. I think Ortio and Gillies are much better goaltenders too.
I don't really think there is anyone I'd want from Montreal. Maybe McCarron, but that's it.

Glencross says he submitted a list and Brad goes with "discussions have been had about his future". That is the most info he will ever give up probably.

I'm not a big fan of him either but what else would Montreal offer us?
I'm sure they don't want to give us a roster player.

I had a brain cramp. Forgot about Gillies.
I'm sure Brad & Brian don't want another goalie prospect either.

I can still see a scenario where he doesn't get traded, ala Cammi last year.
Hopefully that situation last year set the table for some reasonable offers from teams that could use the help.

What about something around McCarron or Scherbak as part of a potential return.
McCarron would be decent.

Maybe Habs offer just a 2nd rounder?
I'll still take that.

McCarron
Scherbak
Tinordi
Beaulieu
Perhaps all 4 Montreal are unwilling to part with.

At least there is more of an upside to Glencross remaining for the balance of the season than there was for not trading Cammy last year.
The team might well benefit from Glencross' presence in the stretch drive. About the only thing not trading Cammy got us last year was the satisfaction of telling the low-ballers to go frak themselves. Fun perhaps, strategic perhaps, but didn't get us even a mediocre pick.

"Hasn't necessarily asked for a trade" was the quote by the way. Didn't flat out deny it like that IMO.

Will Habs trade him though? I'm not sure they would. Unless we add I guess

Jiri Sekac would be a great fit here. He has been a healthy scratch a few times lately, although he is just 22 years old and it's highly unlikely he would be made available for a pending UFA.
