I think chemistry could actually improve with Glencross gone.
Move the "A" to someone who better deserves it --- Backlund, Hudler, etc.

does that mean you will bet me at 10:1 odds that he won't be traded?

Trying to sort through the 2015 list of picks Tampa has two 1st rounders, zero in the 2nd round and two picks in each of the 3rd and 4th round. Could be a match, top team in the east with some picks to play with.
Two 3rd round picks would be an interesting return. The picks would be low and high in that round, being their own 3rd and Edmonton's.

It's time for Backlund to have that A permanently imo.

Yup, Bouma will play balls to the wall until he physically cannot anymore. It will probably be after getting both knees replaced.
He is as close as you get to including a 3rd/4th liner as part of your core as funny as it sounds.

Pipe dream, but Connolly and Edmonton's 3rd would be fantastic.

Not sure how you figure 10 percent.
Chances are, of the 15 teams that inquired about Glencross 12 or 13 of them will make the playoffs.
If he has a list of 6 teams, odds are 6 of them are of the 15 that inquired.
So, I'd put that at about 95 percent chance he's traded.

Guys like Glencross don't cry without reason,
He's been relegated to 3rd line duty, but more importantly, 3rd line players around him. I'm sure he wouldn't speak if the top 6 were all elite players, but he likely believes he deserves another chance up there as they are cooling down. The same way he got bumped down when he didn't produce.
Hell have eyes if he winds up in Anaheim and starts potting Hat Tricks.
But as a big fan of Glencross, I do think a new team may be the best for him if he is feeling the same way.

Given how many people seem to know exactly what is going on inside the locker room, I am left to believe that half of CP is actually current Flames players.
Guy gets asked a direct question, gives an honest answer that is basically "I believe I can give more", and full-on confirmation bias spin takes hold.

Maybe not core but I see Bouma and Backlund being important pieces of this team. Darren McCarty and Kris Draper weren't core players for the wings but the two-way play they provided on the 3rd line proved to be vitally important.

I think Hudler has been wearing it when Glencross or Russel have been out. And from everything I've read, he's a bigtime leader off the ice.

You say that as if it's not those non-elite third liners he's incapable of beating out for ice time.

If the team didn't inquire, he doesn't get dealt.
If the team did inquire, but it's not on his list, he doesn't get dealt.
If the team did inquire, and it's on his list, what is that probability? 50% x 20% = 10%.
Again, that's just a very simple view, and doesn't account for the Flames contacting every team on his list or the fluidity of the situation.

I used to love Glencross and the way that he played. He always had a lazy streak, but his laziness seems to be happening more often now. I never noticed until this year, or maybe it started this year, but rarely does anything good happen when the puck is on his stick. It either bounces away, or he makes a dumb pass, or flat out gets outworked and loses it.
He has always been streaky, and you can bet that he'll get hot as soon as he's traded. I love when he is mad and hitting without taking dumb penalties. To his credit he is not taking as many dumb penalties this year, but it has come at the expense of hitting as much. He is a magician on deflections, probably his best part of his game today.
I'd like a decent prospect or a 2nd for him, but if we get a controllable piece that can be useful next year as well that is able to plug into the lineup I won't be upset either.

Sportsnet 960's audio of Glencross' comments today are horrible. Background noise is louder than Glencross' voice.

Who's cooling down that Glencross would replace?
It's almost like you don't expect people to challenge the things you post.

I'd take 2 3rd rounders for Glencross.
Like a poor man's return for Clowe a couple of years ago.
Maybe Edmonton's Third and Tampa's third that turns into a 2nd in 2016 if Glencross signs with Tampa or they make it to the conference finals.

Glencross is upset about how he has used but he hasn't played well enough to be in the role he wants. Personal responsibility Curtis, always excuses with him. Just like when the Flames were getting booed for playing horrible and he whined to the media about how the fans should be ashamed they booed.

One thing I got from it:
"What's you number one preference Curtis? To stay in Calgary?"
"Uhhhm, it's a little more difficult than that"
