I like that now that he's trade bait, he's 'GlenX' again.

Be hard to turn down a move to Tampa. Weather, success, awesome management.
What would the ++ in a move for Gudas involve? 2nd+lower d prospect like a Kulak ?

Gudas is an important part of their blueline, and they are looking to make waves in the postseason. My favorite suggestion that has been made concerning Tampa was from a few pages ago. Connelly for Glencross. I don't think that Connelly is considered a top prospect by Tampa anymore, but absolutely a Hartley/Burke kind of pedigree.
edit : Credit to JiriHrdina on that one.

Connolly checks off a lot of boxes:
-Room to fill out like Colborne
-Young still(22)
-Hockey sense
-Plays a very high speed game
-Right shooting RW
Would line up pretty well with someone like Bennett.

I've mentioned Connolly a couple times now, and I think he'd be a good fit on this team. He could probably use a change of scenery and he's stuck below a lot of players on the depth chart in Tampa.
As Gaskal said above, he'd fill a need on RW and is still young with some size. Bennett, Monahan, Gaudreau, Poirier, Backlund, Baertschi, Colborne, Granlund and then Connolly is a very, very good young forward core. That's without mentioning guys like Klimchuk, Jooris, Bouma, and Shore.

Not sure what the cost would be though. Likely too high. But if he could be had trading an expiring contract I would be interested.
If I recall correctly... Going into the junior season before Connelly was drafted, he was considered one of the favourites to go #1 overall but got hurt early and essentially lost the whole season. That dropped his draft position. He has shown flashes of his ability over the years since but never that level of potential he had at that time. I remember being very impressed with him and Schwartz in the world juniors that was in Calgary.

Connolly really is a very good call. I always like reading these to learn of the players I didn't know or had forgotten over the years, and Connolly is definitely one of them.
An attainable asset given what we could stand to move, so not at all unrealistic.
So with Glencross involved, what pieces would need to be put up on either side to make that happen? Are we talking about Glencross+ for Connolly, or Glencross for Connolly+?

I think Connolly could find himself in a situation very similar to Colborne next year with TB's depth up front. There's 10 forwards in Tampa's line-up that are outscoring him this year -which isn't great news when you're a former 6th overall pick. If they don't deal him at the deadline, Tampa may be willing to flip him for a pick or in a deal similar to what Chicago did with Clendening when they traded him to the Nucks for Forsling.

Glencross plus a lower end prospect for Connelly would be a fantastic trade

really good write up on hockeybuzz showing who we are up against in terms of sellers and who's available, from a Pittsburgh blogger perspective:
Stewart
Tlustly
Glencross
Vermette
Briere
Fleischmann
Cole
Ryder
We are in a favorable position when we look at the other players, in that Glencross carries a much more palatable salary, and we have the room to eat some salary if need be to facilitate the trade. When compared to the above players, Glencross is not nearly as over the hill as some of these other players. However, Rutherford is loathe to put his 1st in 2016 or any of Harrington/Dumoulin/Pouliot in play.
“I don’t want to do something just to do something, and overpay,“ he said. “I can tell you that if we make a deal, we’ll have to pay a good price, but I have to feel comfortable that that player’s going to come in and help us.”
The Penguins already sent their first-round draft choice in 2015 to Edmonton in the David Perron deal, and Rutherford said that “ideally,” they will not have to part with any of their promising defense prospects.
“I think we’d be more apt to use a draft pick in ’16, not our first[-rounder],” he said. “Prospects, but more the second-tier prospects. Maybe somebody off our [NHL] team. Maybe.”

Must suck to be Connolly. Guy is a first round draft pick watching an unsigned guy in Johnson and a 7th round pick in Palat (in his same draft) go on to be huge producers for his very team.

Glencross needs to go. Watching him every game this season, and especially since Christmas, this guy just doesn't fit with the team anymore.
He's too slow and the play dies on his stick, almost every time, every game. He adds nothing to the team (except for maybe in the dressing room).

Many of you are basically saying
"Glencross is terrible lets trade him for some good young player or high draft pick"

If someone offers a 1st or an A or A- prospect, do it. If not, keep him.

Well if you were the GM and those were your trade terms you would definitely be keeping him for another couple of months and then watch him walk in July with nothing in return.
There's not a GM in the NHL that would give up what you want for a 2 month rental of Glencross. Lets get real eh?

Well for me, it's: Glencross wants to get paid, he's slowly declining, he's not the same Glencross from a few years ago, and we have Adirondack players that can play in his spot. Trade him while he has some sort of value.

For me, it's: He's a valuable piece to this team and would be to any team but the Flames haven't played bad without him and since he most likely won't be back next year, we should try to get something for him because he'll likely make another team better.

How much have the Flames missed Cammalleri since he left for Jersey? Surprisingly, Glencross actually has two more points than the former Flame this season.
With Poirier and Bennett both expected to start 2015-2016 in Calgary, we'll need to delete two players off the current roster.
