My Mr. Clutch goes to Josh Jooris with that epic stick on Marchand.

Calgary 10 games above .500 for the first time this season......right??
I believe they were 17-8-2 (9 games above) right before the 8 game slide, and have battled back to finally surpass that plateau 2 months later.
Resilient team.

Hudler gets 2 shots on goal. Buries both.

I keep seeing people refer to Pasternak's dive, but the stick definitely caught him and cut him

It was a 4 minute PP for pete's sake. Those don't get dished out unless there's blood. If that wasn't proof enough right?

Bit of a karma that Pasternak`s penalty resulted to the tying goal...

This line has slowly taken over as our first and most trustworthy line. They led the forwards in TOI although they only chipped in with one goal. That was quite the move put on by Bouma. He didn't score but he's surprising me more with every game he plays.

Again, why? He was cut by Gaudreau's stick...

Does anyone have a good replay of the high stick? At the dome all we saw was a stick hitting his arm, so I assume it must have bounced up and caught him after as from that replay alone it looked like a hard sell job.
But agree the blood made no sense
Backlund is the man right now. So glad he's back. Takes so much pressure off Monahan and he's starting to really find chemistry with Bouma and Jones. Can't believe how well those two wingers are playing too btw

Next to Gaudreau, I think Backlund is the most skilled player on the team. He makes so many good plays in the offensive zone and is very good with puck possession. Than you add in all the intangible skills that he brings on the defensive side of the game... Backlund is good and possibly even under-rated.

Well it fits right in with the level of belief about the whole team. The amount of I guess you would call them at best fortunate goals is kinda beyond belief as well. The bounces never seem to stop going the Flames way. The play of many of the players is unbelievable as well.
Maybe we just need to set aside the disbelief.

There were several bounces that went against them throughout the game. I think there were 3 separate plays where a Flame shot the puck low in order for a rebound, and another Flame was in position for said rebound with an open net looming, and the puck bounced over their stick.
They probably tipped 5 point shots just wide. And hit a couple posts.
Oh and on the lucky Jones goal, if he doesn't score, Backlund is standing alone in the crease waiting to knock in any rebound.
I always find it funny the way people talk about the Flames getting lucky bounces - no one ever seems to mention the other side of the coin.

Most goals are scored due to "luck", but you have to create chances to get that "luck". The only true "lucky goals" are complete own goals like Calgary did during that delayed penalty earlier this year
