Compared to Hiller, I think Ramo overplays the puck and that was a big reason for the 2nd goal. The shooter was coming down that wing, he should have been in a good position for that shot from the start. He just looks like he has a lot of unnecessary movement. I will say it doesn't help when the Canucks were allowed to run around the zone as much as they did.

Which is exactly what he attempted to do but the puck was about 4" off the ice, caught the edge of his pad and popped into the air...stuff happens like that all the time to goalies. The first goal was inexcusable but beyond that Ramo was really good.
Hartley called his game "outstanding" in clip I saw....I don't know if I would classify it that way, but certainly it was acceptable at the least.

Eh?
It was neither of those things. It was from the middle of the circle right at the top.
And I agree with Resolute on this...if Brodie doesn't make a completely unacceptable play to start this, we aren't even having this discussion.

Honestly it sounds like you were secretly wishing for the canucks to win just so you could rip Ramo apart in the PGT. It was one bad goal and a bad play from everyone on the second one, calm down.

Now that I've had some time to stew over this game, here are my thoughts. First of all, I'm glad we've been able to get back-to-back wins over the Canucks, this time we didn't need our goalie to win it. Perhaps this is the beginning of an era where the Canucks won't have our number anymore. 2 wins out of the last 11 against this team is bad, but I think the tide is turning in a way. We finally got the Canucks to run around frantically. They're on the decline, we're heading up, so it looks good.
Credit to Ramo for a solid third period with a lot of big saves after those first 2 crappy goals. He bounced back so good for him. In the third, we agitated the Canucks much like the Ortio shut-out game - didn't let them enter the zone and hindered their approach in the middle of the ice, aggressive forecheck, always getting the puck off their stick before they could even set up, so the Canucks got sloppy together with our strong play. Monahan was great. We didn't need a bunch of goals in the third this time - played a very controlled game. If not for those 2 bad goals and Miller, this is a blowout. Feels good to beat those stupid rioters and their fans and see them get all quiet near the end.

We won didn't we. 2 goals is acceptable. Enough to push Hiller to work harder.

Whew, I was worried that I am losing my goalie coach to Pee Wee next year but luckily I can just lean on all the experts in here to help me out.

We won the 2014-15 season series 2-1-1. That's what matters now.

the first game arguably could've gone either way, and the second game would have been a win for us if not for a costly mistake in OT(also we gifted them an own goal). I'd say our bad luck with the canucks has ended with this season.

Ramo played great last night but your post is absurd. There is no starting goalie competition because Hiller already won it. There is absolutely no " fact" that Ramo is better. Actually there are stats and info to suggest Hiller is the better goalie. Ramo is a good back up to have for the rest of the season. A goalie that can be called upon once in a while and win the game.

Ramo played great for the most part. Both goals the Canucks scored were a little weak I thought, but he played well enough to win so I don't see why anyone would complain.
In general, I think the 3-2 score flatters the Canucks.

I'll admit that I may have called Ramo a bum who will be out of the NHL after that first goal.. But he was solid for the rest of the game and it's hard to fault him on the second goal. Wouldn't be shocked to see him get another start and may be good to build his confidence for the lengthy road trip ahead.

I don't think there's any question it's turning.
The Flames' problems with the Nucks developed a few years ago when they started standing around and giving the Nucks too much respect and too much ice. They stopped hitting because the Sedins were killing them on the PP. They played D and let the Nucks come at them.
Despite better efforts last year and earlier this year, there was still too much respect, too much reacting, and not enough skating and initiation.
Slowly but steadily this year, with each game, the Flames have been playing their own game more. The prior couple were better in that they were skating at times. But last night they were skating and playing their game all night. For the first time in I cannot remember how long, one can say - correctly - that the Flames were definitely the better team. That game could easily have been more like 5-1 Flames.
And with success comes confidence. You can see that they don't fear the Nucks anymore. They know they can beat them now. I don't see any reason why that won't continue.
Oh, one final thing... another reason tat they have turned the corner is Mikael Backlund. His head to head play against the Sedins is so impressive. He seems to relish playing them and he was a beauty again last night.

The criticism in here and especially in the GT towards Ramo has been ridiculous.
Yes, the first goal was weak. The guy has started what - one game in the last two months? EVERY goalie is going to struggle a bit under those circumstances. He stuck with it and had a solid game.
Yes, goaltending was the reason this game was as close as it was. Miller was huge in the 1st especially. But the level of criticism some of you have ,and remain focused on, is beyond belief.

I have to say, the Nuck fans in my section were surprisingly un-delta bravo-like. Normally I find Nuck games unbearable but last night was more than tolerable.
And then watching them slowly, steadily slink back in their seats and shut up as the Flames continued to outplay them, made for a lovely evening indeed!

Surprised no one has mentioned the kiss cam incident.
So they cut to the 5th or 6th couple and the guy immediately gets down on a knee and proposes. Obviously pre-planned, but a pretty awesome Valentine's move.
The crowd loved it.
And for you romantics... she said yes.
Edit: sorry for 4 consecutive posts

He did? That's news to me. I guess we'll find out when they name the starter for the next game.

This is awesome. Hiller just played a stretch of really solid goaltending, Ramo comes in for his first start in months (because Hiller has been better than him both before and after the injury) and is better than him after one game. That logic is simply flawless.
