Looked a step behind for most of the period. Canucks were first on the puck for a lot of the period. They didn't do much with it, but they were faster than the Flames overall IMO.

I actually thought the Flames were the better team in the first. I don't say that often. The PP looked good. The PK was really good. The forecheck has been decent. No major turnovers / odd man rushes on defense. Vancouver's lone goal was a bit of softie off the wing. I'm not worried.

Hiller made about 40 saves before he let in a bad one last game and he was jumped all over...Letting in that shot when the Flames were controlling the game is a back breaker

I disagree. We were ahead to almost every puck. Strongly disagree

Totally disagree. The Flames has several odd man opportunities and simply botched the passes on most. Canucks quite frankly looked tired in the first period.

strongly disagree, Canucks barely did anything except score on a brutal shot

ZERO hits in the period....ZERO!

Anyone think Wideman gave him too much room to shoot that one?

From that angle I would rather have the defenseman let the goaltender have a clean look than maybe deflect or get in his view. Ramo was a little deep in the net and slow to react.

no, you give him that shot all day long...Wideman did his job keeping him to the outside and not deflecting the shot

Commentary is so Canucks so far. Gushing about them all period when Calgary was just as good, if not the better team.

No. He let him have a clear shot from fat away at a bad angle. Last thing you do there is screen the goalie. You allow that shot all day, maybe interrupt the shot with your stick, but you don't get in the way there

Maybe. But Ramo really should be saving those.

So pretty disappointed with Ramo letting in that weak goal when we were far the better team.

lol...well, sorry guys. I saw the Canucks making their way to pucks much faster in that period. Flames had some great chances, but Canucks seemed a little faster overall. Lots of giveaways overall as well. Seemed like the Flames (especially after the goal), lost a step. Seems like their confidence is just off a bit.

I'm willing to give Ramo two more periods to show that he can do the job, but we can't afford to have any of our goaltenders allowing any routine type saves in the middle of a playoff race.

Hrudey demonstrating the h stance I said Hiller had moved away from the other day (in reference to Miller). Kelly is so smart.

I'm optimistic. Unless Vancouver finds their feet in the intermission, the Flames are better tonight. Just don't take penalties.

I do think Wideman was beat by half a step on that play. Soft goal for sure, but if Wideman is with him, does that she even get to the net?

It really is a team game.

I know we make fun of CBC shows, but Schitt's Creek is pretty damn funny if you haven't given it a chance.
