IPL starts tomorrow - that seemed to come up really fast! Sportsnet is the broadcaster again, but it looks like this year they will not be having any matches on Sportsnet or Sportsnet One (except the final), but will be splitting them between Sportsnet World (subscription) and Sportsnet.ca (free).
The first few matches have been played here in the UAE, split between Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. I live a stone's throw from the stadium in Abu Dhabi (Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium).... it seems like that thing sits idle for most of the year, so it was kind of nice to see something going on over there. Like many things in the UAE, it's expensive, new and fancy, built with the idea of "if you build it they will come" in mind. This appears to be one of the rare times it holds true.
I know nothing of cricket or the IPL, but the round-up on the morning radio seems to indicate that the Mumbai Indians losing their first two matches is a massive surprise.

Maxwell has been red hot this tourny, extremely hot.
But today he better buy a lottery ticket, unbelievably lucky. He's at 72 off 29 balls as I type. But read this.
Gets dropped at 11, easy catch
in his 50s, skies one but it drops between 3 fielders
at 62, hits it right to the fielder who hold on to the ball but Sammy bowls a no-ball
Mohali set for over 200 run total right now, they're at 152-2 after 15 overs.

Everything on Sportsnet World? Ugh. I'm not paying $15 a month for that overpriced channel. Guess no IPL for me this year.
Friday & Saturday games are typically streamed for free on Sportsnet.ca, with Sunday-Thursday being on Sportsnet World. I do with that they had some on Sportsnet One during the week though.
The final is on Sportsnet One this year though, but that's it.
Just watched the replay of the MI-RR game from this morning. What the hell was that? That's almost like overcoming a 3-goal deficit in the final minute to win... in regulation!
Go Pakistan! Expected to be watched over 1 billion ppl today. About 15% of the world will be watching this match, that's insane (I know most will be from Pakistan and India but still there will be lots of other spectators too.

Here's a commercial for you. Pakistan are 0-5 lifetime in the world cup against India

^ I can't see the commercial right now but if its the one with the guy not being able to light up his fireworks then I've seen it and find it very funny. It was a good one.
In World Cups (ODI and T20) India is actually 9-0. Head to head series at any other time, Pakistan leads it but come world events they choke.
