Best case scenario would be conditioning stint then a few NHL games where he plays so unbelievably well that we keep him and he helps us make playoffs!

Can't wait to see what he can do. I think taking advantage of the ability to do an AHL conditioning stint is good and I think it's what the Flames will do.
AHL, and if he earns a look at the next level (meaning he looks ready to handle it) you give him 9. We might need his help down the stretch and if we can't pull off any helpful trades then adding Bennett is pretty much like found money.
Why would the decision be up to Brad and not both of them?
Does that mean that Hartley thinks Bennett should be on the team but there is no room for him?

I would think that all final personel decisions are up to the GM....its his job to provide the players and the coaches job to make those players the best they can be.

To be honest I don't know what would be best for him but I trust management will make the right decision. As much as I'd like to see him in the NHL or AHL this year, next season isn't that far away.
