That was a butt-kicking. If LA plays like that for the rest of the year, we're worried about San Jose and Vancouver.

One word to describe that one: Pathetic.

It's going to happen though. Not much the Flames can do but shake it off and come out strong against Vancouver. Despite the pitiful effort, I'm still beyond proud of this group. They never quit tonight, even if they did play poorly. Just one of those games. Happens to every team.

Wonder if Giordano is a bit worn down after a long season. He's been a warrior and it must be taking its toll on his body.

We need help on defense, Brad. Flip a Hanowski for Franson. It's the only way...

Kings might be the toughest team in the NHL to play when they are on the ropes.

Great lesson to learn tonight from the defending champs. Nothing to be upset about. Still have the season series clinched with a game to go.

They're going to beat Vancouver on Saturday. Everyone relax.

Sure, but this is Darryl's monster team waking up from hibernation. I think it's more like, play dead and focus on Vancouver and SJS.

We can't keep throwing ourselves as hard as we can if the Kings play and get officiating like this. We will literally injure most of our roster and leave ourselves exposed against other teams.

The Kings really messed up our system from what I saw, and Toffoli smugly put the cherry on top.

Proud of our boys. Nothing to be upset about. This is playoff Kings mode we're seeing. Scary stuff.

Tough loss to take as a fan, but as has been said above, the Kings played like the Kings that have won two of the last three cups and the Flames didn't play their best by any stretch.

Biggest game of the season Saturday night.

The Flames should have been expected a all out attack by the Kings tonight.
Hartley i bet was pissed about the players having this golf outing pre planned.
He probably had little choice in the manner.
18 shots to 45 and 5 goals against was not going to get the job done for the 2pts tonight.
The Kings were the much better team.

Flames lost to a good team tonight. Kings were ready to play from the start all the way to the end. Game could have been a blown out in the first period but Hiller made some good saves. I am upset that the Flames lost but I am not upset with the effort tonight. LA Kings did not win the Stanley Cup 2 times in the last few seasons because they were lucky. They won because they have a good team. They outplayed the Flames all night and that Toffoli-Carter-King line did all the damages. I feel for Hudler-Monahan-Gaudreau for having to play against that line. Flames were actually in it for two periods but was just outplayed in the 3rd period by the home team (yes Flames are playing on the road tonight). Add up the brain farts by the Flames, bad line change on one goal, bad pinched in by Giordano on another goal and Gaudreau leaving his man Dwight King all alone in front of the net. It was unfortunate and those things happen to any other teams too. Game is over and nothing the Flames can do now. So they'll move on and start a 4 games home stand.

Calgary's going to have to add something to that. I don't want to speculate on the extra pieces of the trade. We all know it wouldn't be a straight up 1-1 trade tho.

Let's not forget the Kings are 17-6-6 at home. They're 1-1-1 at home against us. Not bad. Not bad.

1-0-2 actually. Their regulation loss was in Calgary.

Ok, so Calgary is 2-1-0 in LA this year. Even better

Not scared of the Kings a bit. Pre-deadline with a 3-1 record this year and a 3-2 record for 13-14 . Kings are a good team but they have been terrible on the road. Calgary's system has proven to be able to insert new/ young players when needed into the roster and be consistent in performance. The kings have a decent prospect pool but, one key player has a long term serious injury and it really starts effecting that team in a serious way.
