I doubt he hates NBA or Soccer etc..., its probably his perceived personality on the show (i.e. its all part of the show....).

He did make mention of something this morning along the lines of "tune in tomorrow and find out" - don't know if that was just about Pinder coming back or what.
New Pinder's laugh is great, he needs to become a mainstay as 4th wheel on the show.

God I hope it's true... Mollberg sucks. He's annoying and uninteresting.

I like Dean, both on the air and from meeting him personally. For me it would suck to lose him as a morning host.
I got to golf with him and Walker a couple years back, it was a great time.

I like him, and the whole show. He certainly held the show better than I thought would happen after Richards flew the coop.

I love the fan960 morning show. So much so I stream it every morning at work from Ottawa. I hope Boomer stays. Him and Warrener are hilarious together. Pinder is growing on me too.

I find Boomer's sardonic, lazy-guy persona a welcome antidote to the burbling sports-nerd enthusiasm of the likely alternatives.

Ya he's especially relatable when he tells Pinder to shut his trap about advanced stats.

Boomer seems like a good guy.
That being said as a radio personality he's terrible, and the 960 morning show is terrible. Mike Richards was the true talent loss, he was funny, insightful, covered a broad sports spectrum, and conducted well thought out interviews. The current morning show has none of those traits, it's a four hour clown show interrupted only by 15 minutes of quality Stephen Brunt-ness every tuesday and friday.
960 in general is bereft of on-air talent with the exception of Kerr and Steinberg, and if the higer-ups feel that the morning show is the flagship program I would like to see Steinberg take over.

I like light stuff in the am. And while I liked Richards as well, I wouldn't use "insightful" as an adjective. And his interviews were usually painful.

I love the morning show when all three are on together. Just good chemistry between them. Sounds like a genuine conversation going on that is informative and humorous at the same time.
Stark contrast to Josh and Rob in the afternoon. I don't believe for a second they would actually ever have a sports conversation in real life, and it comes across as just awkward on the ride home.

I do not like Boomer's condescending attitude toward the listeners, and toward Pinder. He acts like HE is the former NHLer on the show. I listen to QR most mornings because I feel like I am constantly being talked down to by Boomer.
He might be a better fit for TO.
Can someone please tell me what happened to Walker in TO?

I like boomer, he seems to be the glue that holds the morning show together. Hope he turns down the Toronto job if offered.

It's all opinion. It's like music. I listen to my beloved punk rock and can't understand why anyone would hate it, but I show it to my friends and they think it's trash and mock me.
Personally I find Boomer annoying. To me he's one of those guys who isn't funny but really wants to be funny, so he tries too hard to be funny and it just doesn't work. Also I don't find him all that knowledgeable about sports. He's just average at covering the NHL, but I find him a bit clueless and out of his element when it comes to other sports such as baseball.
I just find myself disagreeing with him a lot. That thing he said on air about hoping the Saskatchewan Rough Riders plane would crash a few years ago still doesn't sit right with me. I haven't listened to him since. As far as I'm concerned, good riddance.

Toronto Radio Ratings: Sept 1, 2014 - Nov 30, 2014
http://www.chatsports.com/toronto-ma...ike-2-10855647
In the always interesting battle between The Fan 590 and TSN Radio, The Fan leads 2.4% to 0.7%.
If you think the TSN feed in Toronto is bad, check out Vancouver's CFTE. It's got a 0.2 share versus the all traffic station which as a 0.9.

Friedman and Duha are excellent also. I count myself lucky if Friedman comes on during my morning commute.
