This I think is simply a case of van Gaal's arrogance and ego running amok. God forbid that someone criticise his tactics. God help him if/when Jose decides to start winding him up.

But I wouldn't bet on a facts type interview being in the pipeline if the race for 4th comes down to the wire.

Great win! That was an excellent game. Both sides really look capable of challenging for the top 4. Only annoying part was Dowd giving out yellows for every little foul.

ya nothing was really game changing but in the 2nd half it effected the flow a bunch with the ticky tack stuff being stopped every 5 minutes for a yellow

It was a really good game. Both sides looked capable of scoring at any time. We did well to battle back after Spurs 2nd goal which was pretty unlucky for us.

The race for CL is going to be a tight battle this season.

I've seriously only been following premier league for 4 months now, but man have I chosen poorly a team to follow. Villa with another loss, into relegation zone now. Paul Lambert is quickly becoming one of my least favourite human beings.

12 goals in 25 games ... yikes! I see Andi Weimann is still their top scorer with 3 goals - even if they manage to stay up, I hope he moves to a decent club in the summer.

I love Paul Scholes, watch what he mouths to himself at 10 seconds after Savage makes a joke

So I watched the game, and it was entertaining. Heres two things I noticed:

- Eriksen takes illegal corners. He took 3 corners in a row and the camera clearly showed the ball not touching the white line.

- What is Balotelli's problem? He scores and doesnt celebrate and at the final whistle he just heads straight down the tunnel without shaking hands. I cant wait to get rid of this idiot.

Balotelli doesn't celebrate goals because he says its a basic expectation for a striker to score goals.

I actually quite like Mario the person, but Mario the player hasn't been good enough and hasn't really fit our play style so far. I hope this goal can give him a little confidence though and he can start to contribute a little more.

And yet it never seems to help. The dude is great at free kicks, but I take better corners than he does.

They were cleared by the first defender every time. Maybe he needs to take them legally to get some more height on them.

loLVG, playing similar top 6. At least Januzaj is top of the diamond & di Maria left of him.

Get one of Falcao or RVP off, push Rooney up top, and get Fellaini in.

God he's frustrating.
