^ Thats right. You can also take out the $10k, spend it on hookers and blow and then put another $10k in.

Slava's advice is usually pretty good but if I were you I'd be suspicious about the H&B part. Maybe it's just me.

I dug up this old thread looking for some info on TFSA. I withdrew my holdings last year to put a downpayment on a house. So right now my TFSA is at $0. I have some funds that I want to put into the account, how much can you put into a TFSA in 2015 if it was at $0 when the year started?

Well you can put in a maximum of $36,500 but then you can also add on any growth you had prior.

If you are signed up with the CRA My Account for your tax information, they should have a calculation done for you up to the beginning of 2015. It probably should be update to date now; the CRA likely has all TSFA transaction for 2014 at this point to calculate your 2015 room.

Thanks for the help guys. I talked to my Financial Advisor who at this point I dont think I can call and Advisor because they are uselss....

I talked to the CRA and they got me what i needed. Chalk another win up for the CP community. Thanks again guys.

interest on regular savings accounts should have been tax free to begin with. The pitiful returns are less than inflation. Should've just left it under my mattress and not given the government the satisfaction
