It's a little known fact that Robin Williams first appeared as Mork on Happy Days before the character was spun off to Mork & Mindy.

Know by anyone who listens to Comedy Bang Bang when Gary Marshall comes for a visit.

Gary Marshall, "That's Mr. Marshall to you!"

Sorry, when Mr. Marshall comes for a visit.

Gary Marshall, "Please, call me Gary."

Can't forget Joey = Friends?
wait, what are we doing?
I think it'll be interesting to see the arc that Saul takes from what is likely a decent normal lawyer to "better call Saul". we also don't know what happens to his character after Walt and Jesse. If this show is only 1/2 as good as BB, it'll still be better than 75% of the shows on tv.

Ya I think the series will mostly take place pre-Breaking Bad, but they might end the first half of the final season when Walt walks into his office. Then the final few episodes jump forward and we get to see what happened to Saul after disappearing himself

I think it will pop back and forth in time, much like Breaking Bad did, for sure. Much like the plan crash season. That was really well done. We will see some character teasing that the viewers will love.

Breaking Bad didn't really jump that much though. Prior to season five you'd have a backstory in the intro, maybe 1-1.5 times per season. There was the whole plane crash tease in season two, but it was all the same scene. Season five-two was really where they started using the flash forward a lot. But aside from the scene of Walt in the diner, there wasn't a lot of jumping.

I guess compared to shows like Lost, or movies like Pulp Fiction, it was still very linear.

Guess we'll see which Better Call Saul will be more like.

While it would be interesting to see where Saul ended up post-Heisenberg, I'm not sure what kind of story they could develop from there given the genre they are trying to situate the show in. Things got awful dark in an awful hurry when he (and Walt) made that call to disappear. Saul almost seemed like a different person in that last scene we see him in. For the first time he isn't trying to spin anything, and he's as absolutely defeated by it all as he could possibly be.

I'm really interested to see how he seemingly goes from a clean cut James McGill to slimy Saul Goodman. I bet the whole development of this character is going to be damn entertaining.

This teaser for the Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul isn’t even long enough to max out an Instagram video, but it’s enough to show us that James “Jimmy” McGill—better known as Saul Goodman—is hanging out his shingle starting in 2015.
Pause at: 0:06. The fuller head of hair, the facial expression, the suit—Saul is back for the first time and in business!
Essential Quote: “Lawyers. We’re like health insurance. You hope you never need it, but man oh man, not having it? No!”—Saul laying out his legal philosophy

I'm going to watch, and I haven't watched BB. That's one show I'm pissed is not on Shomi.

Good start. I like how this is rolling already.

They are replaying today's episode tomorrow and another new episode right after on AMC.
