Default Question about E.I.

Technology is driving the company my Mom works for pretty much out of business she is working part time and at her age may not find employment any time soon. The company will be laying her off and we are helping her budget a bit so the question I have is does anyone know how much money she would roughly get a month on E.I. on her $13,000 a year salary while she finds other work? Thanks for any help

I think it's approx around 66% of her salary, I could be wrong. Obviously with low tax implications arrived. Can I ask what she is doing?

After a 2 week waiting period (unpaid), she will get paid 55% of her previous salary, note that if she is getting severance that will have to run out before EI kicks in. Taxes are not a factor because this is low income. She should expect about $300 biweekly. I believe she will be eligible for EI for 26 weeks.

Thanks for the info, calgarywinning, she works for a private company hired through a financial institution that process cheques. Half of us don't write cheques anymore and the other half (next generation) probably don't know what one is! With things like PayPal and easier ways to deposit cheques they no longer needs this "assembly line" of approach that she has worked in for over 20 years

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

Part time $13,000 a year? Not exactly an irreplaceable income level...
