Kane obviously felt bullied if he decided to stay home for the game.
He was in his home town, and was likely looking forward to playing that game.
This would not fly in any other job, but it's a sport and they are teammates so it's just Byfuglien being a good leader.

I get what you're saying but the fact of the matter is that this isnt 'any other job.'
But plunk Kane with his attitude into an O&G company that have to work as a team to achieve objectives and he pulls the same stunts and that wouldnt fly either.
Its just different scenarios that have to deal with their unique characteristics.

Kane may certainly mature, as can Johnny Manziel and a host of other troubled young athletes. The question is, is it worth it if they don't? Look at the distraction it's now causing the Jets? It's not like there isn't a Texas sized risk here

They're not the same. One is a much worse teammate than the other two.

Seguin clearly annoyed the team or else they wouldn't have made a dumb trade to get rid of him.

Really? Was the risk closer to the same? I didn't hear a lot about Seguin being hated by his teammates...
Seguin=/=Kane
Sorry, but that just isn't the same.

No, Boston had to choose a big ticket to lose. Seguin was about to cost them $5.5M and they would've had to trade another big ticket away.
That's not at all the same as your implying
Edit: Chiarelli did publicly tell Seguin to grow up, but there isn't near the history not conflict that Kane had.
For Boston it was:
-Couldn't afford Bergeron and Seguin contacts without serious team change
-Had Krejci and Bergeron already as 1/2 C

I wouldn't want Kane. I don't really want Phaneuf back either.

Maybe if Regehr of Warrener threw Dion's track suit in the shower things would have turned out better!

If Treliving is even considering this, he needs to have a chat with Lance Bouma. They played together for 3 years in the WHL, he'll know whether Kane is a good guy or not.

people call it "dumb" or whatever now, but Loui Eriksson was a heck of a player prior to the lockout and his concussions. Reilly Smith has been very good for them and Joe Morrow is still developing, so let's not act as if they traded Marc Savard for Ruslan Zainullin here. They still got some really good pieces back.

Former junior teammate, and current NHLer, on #NHLJets' Evander Kane "I've never heard anyone say one good thing about him"
edit: just quickly looking it up the quote could have come from Lucic, Franson, Bouma or Gallagher

How much laughing would be there in Dallas if they offered that back for him?

Like I said though. I have no issue with Kane being punished if he was breaking team dress code.
The issue here is that since he clearly doesn't get along with teammates, he is being singled out and punished in a childish way that is bullying.
The other issue is the team doesn't step in and punish him. The second he showed up breaking dress code he should have been sent home, and told he was not playing that night.
So now you have the team just letting the divide between the players grow because they didn't police it themselves. And since the relationship between Kane and the rest was already fractured it led to it causing a further divide.
My point is just that all parties are to blame here, and that even though Kane may be an idiot he still felt that he was bullied and was being treated unfairly.
Personally I wouldn't want Kane or Byfuglien on my team.

Lance Bouma, Brendan Gallagher, Milan Lucic, Cody Franson, Craig Cunningham, Jonathon Blum. I think that's the only current NHLers that played with Kane for the Giants, but I might be wrong.

They managed to fit Iginla under the cap last year, I'm sure they could have figured out how to keep Seguin if they wanted him to.
The Boston newspapers reported the Bruins had to put a guard by his door in the playoffs so he wouldn't go out partying.

Okay, but I just cant agree with you 100%.
Kane has, allegedly, had many chances and he keeps making the same mistakes. Its understandable that hes only 22, but hes also supposed to be a professional and things have apparently gotten so bad that his teammates have determined that its time to take things into their own hands.
Theres lots of blame to be spread around here but it all starts and ends with Evander Kane.
