Oh, I have no problem with those sorts of designs.

Didn't the bridge have a cowboy boot that shoots flames out of it? I'd put that on a flag.

This. This is the time.
Here. Here is the place to be.

Those are some great lyrics right there.

I was thinking more like riffing on the "C is for Cookie" song from Sesame Street:

C is for Calgary, that's good enough for me
C is for Calgary, that's good enough for me
C is for Calgary, that's good enough for me
Calgary, Calgary, Calgary starts with C

Wow. Some people on here hate tradition.
Some people seem to think they are too important to be associated with a western tradition.

That said, our flag is rather plain and dull. I would favour a new design, just not for reasons of "waaah, it has a cowboy hat".

Why don't we get a stock photo of some Montana mountains and put block letters of 'Calgary' over top of them? And then we can come up with three even worse designs, and hold a 'vote' to see which one we actually use.

Only if 3M picks the 'three worse designs' for us and we don't pay for a professional firm to do it.

This is basically it. I believe in something classic that represents the City but that flag is ancient and boring.

But, it's a flag. Flags are generally plain and dull. How many flags are nothing more than two or three stripes of different colours?

So we have to just file in line? The city's flag lacks the ambition and initiative of the city's citizens.

I'm not a fan of Stampitecture but I think we could do a pretty good job of incorporating our history in a contemporary design.
