Voted Nashville.
A healthy Pekka Rinne, with Shea Weber and Seth Jones holding fort on the backend?
No thanks!
Plus, playing Nashville (or Anaheim, for that matter) likely means that the Flames are a wild-card team without home-ice.

St Louis. Don't think the Flames are built to compete with them this year.
The Anaheim curse would have to wear off in a series atmosphere... they're my pick for the cup winner this year, but I'd actually really like to see the Flames play them in the playoffs as I think it'd be a great series.

I honestly think this team could be competitive against anyone but Anaheim and St. Louis.
Chicago would be tough as well, but we could take a series against any but the two I mentioned if Hiller or Ramo is hot.

Least Favoured Matchups
1. Blues - they seem to kill us home or away
2. Ducks - can't win in Anaheim, and they'd have home ice
3. Hawks - tough opponent, but we've shown we can beat them
Most Favoured Matchups
1. Sharks - we have their number
2. Canucks - because of the rivalry, I'd be nervous though
3. Nashville - we've beat them twice, for whatever reason I think we could win with our speed game and equally active D
I'd put the Jets but a matchup against them is next to impossible as we'd have to pass Anaheim in order to have that chance.

Ducks, then Chicago. I feel we have a good chance against the others.

I picked the Ducks because it's hard to envision winning a series when you will start on the road against an opponent you haven't beaten in their own barn in a decade. However one positive of them meeting would be that if the Flames were ever going to break that 20 game and counting hex in that building the playoffs would be the place to exercise those demons and pay them back for 2006.

Yeah, Nashville scares the crap out of me. A goalie like Rinne can win a series on his own.

Anaheim, Nashville, St. Louis and Chicago are the teams that I think would beat Calgary in 4 or 5 games. Anyone else and I think they've got a chance.

Anaheim, probably doesn't need much explanation, the Flames struggle to beat them
That said, if it happened and we won the series, it would be the greatest feeling in the world. Regardless of how we did after that round, I would be very optimistic about the future,

voted St.Louis. I would love to play Anaheim to break the curse, Vancouver or San Jose. The Canucks and sharks would be the most winnable matchup in my mind.

I think we'd match up best against Nashville, of any top central team tbh. Who have we struggled against more this season? Certainly not the Preds.

Also, given the flames positioning, I find myself wondering sometimes if Iggy wishes he was still here.

Pick up Iggy at the deadline if running with a 10+ point gap on 9th?
The old school fan inside me would love it. But probably not the best idea given the new leadership.

I think this team can take on anyone in the West, but I think Anaheim would be the most difficult. So I went with them.
