Stockton Scorch is the only acceptable name for CP to vote for. They already have a mascot and kids already want to dress like him for Halloween.

I voted for Scorch as well. I really don't think they would ever choose that as the name but you know we would all buy jerseys to support the team if it was the Stockton Scorch. I know I would.

Stockton Scorch is so perfect that the Flames will never go for it.
On another note I didn't realize that the Stockton arena holds 12,000 - they could draw some nice crowds if the City gets behind them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockton_Arena

I watched Ice Cube's 30 For 30 documentary the other day. He said that the Los Angeles Raiders back in the day helped curb gang violence because everyone would wear black and silver team colours around the city, so no one knew who was a Blood and who was a Crip. I say Stockton takes the same initiative.

I considered Soldiers, but thought it was too gang related. Could perhaps be connected to patriotism instead? The gang violence reduction thing is interesting though. Definitely worth considering.
I do think it's a great idea that the AHL affiliate would help to really make a difference in the community.
