Maybe 1 slightly angry scrum all game.

Sorry guys great goaltending, good sticks and tons of obstruction preventing offensive chances is boring. We didn't have a single 2 on 1 all night and I think they had 1 or 2.
Minny had a LOT of good scoring chances.
The Flames had a few too, Byron had a breakaway, Johnny had a great chance that was gloved by Dubnyuk. Quite a few other good scoring chances in the 3rd, particularly near the end.
I don't think it was as boring you belive it was, and even if it was the reason was the Flames, not Minny. The Wild were pressing and had numerous scoring chances all night. They certainly weren't trying to trap and bore the Flames to death. And I think any time your team gets shutout it's not regarded as an exciting game.

This is very true. Not that if you get shut out it's totally boring, but when you go to a game, you are just waiting for the opportunity to cheer, explode, get excited for your teams goal. To go 60 minutes and not get that chance is always a let down that impacts enjoyment.

Sounds like a lot of people have become jaded, we're not even supposed to be fighting for a playoff spot in year 2 of our rebuild. Yet it sounds like it did 3 seasons ago..."These guys better wake up"..."Trade player X, Y, and Z!"..."You can't just play in the third"

I expected them to be in the same spot, or marginally better, as they were last season. So this is bonus...for me anyways.

While true, they've shown they can be a better team than they are some games (or parts of games). They've driven up the expectations, and that's a good thing.

There always has to be progress with a re-building team, even if they are ahead of schedule.

I completely agree with this. It is a bonus that the team is doing better than expected but we can't lose sight of what we are trying to accomplish here and that isn't winning the cup this year. We won't and probably won't for a while.

Last nights loss was a bit disappointing since they didn't play terrible, just couldn't score on a hot goalie. It really isn't that bad, we do control our own destiny to make the playoffs and if we don't make it, it isn't a surprise this year.

My opinion is that once their speed showed up in the second half of the third they kind of took over...up until the Wild looked fast. They seemed to be in 2nd and occasionally 3rd gear until then and then they knocked it up to 5th and looked much better.

Yeah, it was some guy sitting in 223 doing the whole hand pointing thing for nearly half the game. You could really only hear the DUUUUUUUB part of it but he was definitely doing his best to singlehandedly jinx Dubnyk.

Maybe he should have changed strategies because that one sure didn't work.

I watched most of two 1-0 games yesterday, they were both great. Dubnyk gets a tip of the cap, he was one goal better last night. There doesn't have to be 8 goals scored in a game to make it exciting.
